Good City Group to Beautiful Alley

On October 10 & 11, 2015 the Good City Group will be working to beautiful the alley located at 4870 N. Milwaukee Avenue.  The project goal is to create usable public space to an area that many in Jefferson Park use as a cut-thru from the Jefferson Park Transit Center.

On Saturday October 10 the group will work to weed and clean the area and on Sunday, October 11 the group will host community engagement and participation activities.  These activities include installation of two way-finding sculptures at each end of the alley, treatment of asphalt surfacing, distributing information about upcoming community workshops, and guided cultural walks to several neighborhood landmarks.

Be on the lookout for additional information!!!!

Developments in Jeff Park
Two recent development proposals would bring a 12-story parking garage and apartment building and a 4-story retail and apartment structure to the Jefferson Park business district.
The Mega Group is seeking to construct a building with storefronts, several levels of parking and 96 apartments on the top floors on the former Cowhey cement-mixing site at 4849 N. Lipps Ave., next the the CTA Terminal. The project requires a zoning change in the form of a planned development ordinance.
Mega also is seeking to build a 4-story building with storefronts and 39 apartments at 5201 W. Lawrence Ave. The site includes some city-owned vacant lots that the city plans to sell for $1, and the project calls for a planned development ordinance to govern the site's zoning. The building would include 41 interior parking spaces, and an outdoor 21-space parking lot with a landscaped plaza would be built at 5161 W. Lawrence Ave.,
