It is official, there are only 40 days left before students return to school. The first day of the new 2015-2016 school year for students is August 6th. We are looking forward to the start of another great school year. But there is still a lot of summer fun left to be had, and I hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful opportunities our community has to offer children and adults alike over the summer months. From the upcoming 4th of July festivities to the farmer's markets being hosted in the park, it does not take much effort to find a fun family adventure opportunity in Lebanon over the summer.

A few reminders, registration for returning students begins with online access on July 8th. That can be accessed through the Skyward portal on your child's school website. The individual school websites are listed below. I would also recommend you visit the school websites or Facebook pages periodically over the summer to stay in touch with the latest updates and student related information. From school specific information to updates on local community activities, the individual school websites offer a lot of information for parents and students.

Carnival

Once again family and friends enjoyed another fun time at HBS Carnival and Book Fair. We even had a special guest - Clifford!! The highlight of the evening was the "pie in the face". Some lucky staff member was really rocked with pie.

Nurses Day

Staff and students really showered Mrs. Merritt with cards, signs and best wishes for being our "Super Hero Nurse". Annual tradition is for staff members to wear scrubs honoring Nurses Day.

Megan Hammerle Walk/Run

Several staff members attended the first annual walk/run in support of Megan and her family. There was a fantastic turn-out with a few tears and many happy moments remembering Megan.

Major Saver Limo Ride

Students who met the criteria for the LEF fundraiser by selling a designated amount of discount cards were able to take a limo ride to Arni's and enjoy their pizza.

4 Leaf Clover

What are the odds of two students finding four leaf clovers at recess on the same day? Well these ladies did and came to the office to show us. Once again our students are "Shamrocking"!

Odyssey Awards

Students in grades K-5 work all year long to collect tickets to put into the pool for the chance to win some cool prizes. Tickets are earned by completing folders in the Odyssey computer program. Students are given time each school day to work on Odyssey which helps students improve their math and language art skills.

Talent Show

We ended the year with a fantastic show - THANKS TO MRS. SCHOEFF!! Students tried out and there were a total of 25 performances. The finale was performed by some of our "talented" staff!

Fifth Grade Celebration

It is sad to say good-bye to our 5th graders but it is exciting to see the smiles on their faces as the "graduate" from HBS. Fifth graders celebrate their ending to elementary school with an afternoon of food, fun and a walk through the school to say good-bye to everyone. GOOD LUCK IN YOUR NEXT JOURNEY!

Field Day

Hattie B. Stokes SHAMROCKED the last day of school with our field day. Costumes, competition and comradery was the coolest part of the day. Sun was out - smiles were everywhere and a good time was enjoyed by all. THANKS TO THE STAFF AND GREAT GROUP OF STUDENTS FOR A GREAT 2014-2015 YEAR!

Ambassador Lock-in

The student representatives (Ambassadors) were treated to an overnight "lock-in". They shared experiences from their training, played games, watched movies and then all was quiet until the next morning when they left for the weekend. Great Job Ambassadors!

Principal, Mrs. Sollman was honored with Regional Principal of the Year!
