Dear Daffodil Families:
We are so proud of all of our students who participated in the STEM science fair. Great work from them! Thank you, families, for your support!
We have some fun events planned for February. Donuts with Dad, is scheduled on Friday, February 8, at 8:30 a.m. Our first-ever PTA Dance Party with our families is scheduled on Tuesday, February 12, at 6:00 p.m. Both are great family events!
We are trying so hard to get students in their seats ready to learn and in their classroom by 9:20 a.m., when school starts. If a child comes to school after 9:20 a.m., he or she is marked as tardy. Late arriving students take time away from those students who arrived on time. When a student comes in late the teacher must take time to ensure that the student is caught up and ready for the rest of the day. The last bell rings at 9:20 a.m. to start our learning day.
February also brings some calendar changes! February 14 is a half-day early dismissal, teacher furlough day. DVE will dismiss at 12:15 p.m. on this day. There is no school Friday, February 15, and Monday, February 18, in observance of the Presidents' Day Weekend.
We are cleaning our lost and found during Presidents' Day Weekend. Remind your child to check the lost and found!
Our outside doors are locked at all times except the front doors. Please remember to sign-in at the office...even for that quick visit. No students will be released to parents from the classroom without a call from the office. Even if this is prearranged, adults need to wait in the office for the student.
We love to have families volunteer. Remember to sign up as a volunteer through the District Web site first. With spring field trips around the corner we want to be prepared! Please let us know if you need assistance with this.
