COMFORT NEWS FROM MAURER HEATING & COOLING
MHC Logo

Greetings!
I don't know about you, but I am looking forward to the weather warming up. With the warm weather comes summer festivals, grilling, and air conditioning.  I've included some information about the upcoming Fountain Park Grill Fest that we will be hosting, a recipe for Sausage Shorties, and helpful tips for getting your air conditioner ready for the season.

Central air conditioning systems needs to have some basic yearly maintenance to keep things running properly and efficiently. Before you start up yours for the first time this year here are some helpful tips.
  • Each year you should check your air filter.  Typically they are located near your furnace in the return air.  Some air filters are washable, others need to be replaced ranging from monthly to annually.
  • Check to be sure the outside unit is level and there are no signs of damage. Pay special attention to the fan housing to be sure it's not filled with debris.
  • It's also a good idea to have an air conditioning specialist like us stop out to check the coolant levels and mechanical performance of the entire system.

Sausage Shorties
Here is a great appetizer that's fun to make and tasty for the whole family.

Ingredients:
  • 1 lb package of regular, mild, or hot breakfast sausage
  • 1 package of pepper jack cheese (8oz) cut into eight strips
  • 2 tbsp. of your favorite dry rub seasoning
Instructions:
Preheat the grill to medium-high.  Divide sausage in to 8 2-ounce portions. Cover one strip of cheese with a single portion of sausage and roll into an oval shape making sure the cheese is fully encased.  Add your favorite dry rub seasoning, place on grill, cook evenly until pork is at 165 degrees, then enjoy. - Not enough pork? Wrap in bacon for even more flavor.
