Mother's Day Campaign Success!
We'd like to thank all of those that donated to Raising A Reader's Third Annual Mother Day Campaign. Thanks to your support, we've raised over $3,500 to help 14,000 Bay Area families read to their children.
Remember, we're partnering with Bay Area tea shops throughout the month of May to bring you more ways to celebrate the special Moms in your life, while supporting RAR's early literacy program. See a full list of partnering tea shops here.

Many Thanks, Ms. Willhalm!
Laurie Willhalm serves as the Children's Outreach Librarian
RAR would like to honor her for her amazing efforts in partnering with us to coordinate Library Blue Bag events for the past 4 years.
This year, Willhalm has made an extra effort to reach out to all OPL children's librarians to contact RAR schools, organize blue bag events, and process library cards for hundreds of children. Because of Laurie and her amazing dedication to promote literacy for our youngest readers, hundreds of Oakland children will now be life-time library patrons and continue the habit of reading forever!
