News Flash!

 The International Bag of Mystery
provokes skepticism!

At every Sunday worship service this summer the ministry team will be challenged to create a short faith lesson based upon a random, unknown object delivered to them by a member of the congregation.

This past Sunday Mark was chosen all three times again (that's now 6 services in row that he has been randomly chosen).  There seems to be skepticism that our process is truly random, even though the blind assignment of poker chips was witnessed last Sunday. The doubt is understandable, given the odds of what has happened -- 215 to 1.  But aren't we in the business of believing the unlikely?

What will happen this coming Sunday?  Will the objects be as varied as last week - a Costa Rican stone with a head carved into it, a piece of quartz, and a talking Darth Vader toy?  Who knows...it's a mystery!

The men will be convening for their annual retreat September 13 - 15 at Richards-Chambers Lake near Corsicana. Cost is $130 per person. We've reached our 20-person limit, but there is a waiting list in case someone has to drop out (which typically happens).  To get on the waiting list, either sign up in the Narthex or email Ace Dzelzkalns at  vanags@tx.rr.com.

Sign-up sheets for July, August, and September
are now in the Narthex.
