This month, I want to focus on the possible ill-effects of EMFs, which is also known as "dirty electricity." If you spend a lot of time around electric devices, you may be a prime candidate for this type of exposure, which the human body is not designed to absorb.

Are Cell Phones and EMFs Making You Sick?

They have become an extension of our bodies. I think most of us can agree that the one thing they probably couldn't live without would be their smartphone. Who hasn't felt the phantom phone vibrate/ring leg twitch, when their phones were not in their pockets?

There is increasing evidence, which shows that cell phones may be contributing to health problems in people and increasing certain cancers as well. In May 2011, the world health organization reported that cell phones might cause cancer, classifying radio frequency electromagnetic fields as "possibly carcinogenic to humans."

The classification came partly in response to research showing wireless telephones increase the risk for brain cancer. Parotid and salivary gland tumors have increased at a very steep rate, since 2001. These glands are located close to where we hold our phones.

Cell phones, microwaves, WIFI, and electrical outlets all emit EMFs or electromagnetic fields.  EMFs are a physical field produced by electrically charged objects. These EMFs interact with our own electromagnetic field and can cause an imbalance in our bodies.

We are electrical beings that operate on certain frequencies through a complex network of cellular communication. When the body gets bombarded by too many EMFs at different frequencies, these EMFs can actually change the way that the cell responds. Evidence has shown that the cell can become less permeable to nutrients and releasing toxins when bombarded by EMFs.

EMFs cause interference in the body. If the body has difficulty communicating with itself, microorganisms and other forms of immune challenges have a greater ability to thrive in the body. People that have heavy-metal toxicity may have the most challenging time dealing with ill effects from EMFs, because metals act as a conductor.

The pineal gland is a tiny gland at the center of the brain that is adversely affected by EMFs. This gland is vital for physical, mental, and spiritual health.

The pineal gland secretes melatonin, which helps with sleep cycles, and serotonin, which regulate mood and feelings of well-being.

Many people that are overloaded with EMFs have difficulty sleeping and a malfunctioning pineal gland.

Through my muscle testing technique, I can identify whether the pineal gland is not functioning properly, and whether EMFs are affecting you negatively. One way that I do this is I have a patient hold their cell phone to their ear and call their voice mail or someone who will answer.

Once the voice mail or person picks up, I do a muscle test while they are holding the phone to their ear. If the test is weak, it indicates a negative response to EMFs.  At this point, I would test them for certain supplements that may change the reflex reaction to the cell phone. What I am looking for is a supplement that will change their reflexes, and therefor will strengthen them against EMFs.

I have found pyridoxal 5' phosphate or B6, phyllanthus fraternus and other supplements to have remarkable effects in protecting the body from EMFs.

If you test positive to a pineal gland dysfunction and test sensitive to EMFs, there are important steps you can take to limit their exposure.
  • Don't keep your phone in your pocket if you don't have to. At work, put it in a desk drawer.
  • Keep it on airplane mode or even off most of the time, if you are carrying it around. I generally keep mine in airplane mode and than turn it on periodically to check for messages.
  • Use a headset instead of putting the phone directly to your ear. 
  • Turn your WIFI off when you don't need it, for example when you go to bed.
  • Make sure your clock radio, electrical outlets, cellphone, computer, TV, etc. are at least 6 feet away from your head when you sleep. Better yet, put the devices that can be moved in another room, away from where you sleep. 
  • Throw out your microwave!! Microwaves change the chemical structure of food and are strong emitters of radiation and EMFs.
