Welcome Back VolunTEENS!

With back to school, comes the return of many of our highs school volunteers!  Our client base has increased over 100% in 7 years thanks in part to the volunteer support from our younger volunteers - or Volunteens!

This is a great way to give back to the community and add valuable material to your resume!

Their first project was a food drive outside of Stop and Shop in Simsbury on a Sunday in September.  They filled the truck TWICE!  And, they filled our pantry shelves.  Look for Volunteens at ShopRite in Canton on October 12th.

Thank You ShopRite!

Staff members from ShopRite and Gifts of Love work together to help eliminate hunger in our neighborhood

The Joseph Family, owners of the ShopRite stores in Canton and West Hartford, is one of our best supporters! In September, ShopRite participated in Bag Hunger, where local organizations help bag groceries and collect donations for local food pantries, like Gifts of Love!

ShopRite also hosts an annual golf tournament to raise additional funds for local agencies. This year the tournament raised over $11,000 for neighbors in need!

We are so proud to be part of the ShopRite Family!

Almost VolunTEENS!

Age is not a factor when making a difference! Kids of all ages can help!  Whether it is organizing a food drive in your neighborhood, planning a weekly lemonade stand or bringing your Brownie Troop to Gifts of Love - your helps makes a difference to our clients.

Emilie and Nora Carroll hosted a weekly lemonade stand in their neighborhood with their last stand at the Simsbury Air Show.  They raised over $1,000!

Anike Ghosh and Kellyann Taylor had a food drive in their West Hartford neighborhood and brought in 13 bags of food.

As part of their Take Action Project, Simsbury Junior Girl Scout Troop 66377 ran a diaper drive to benefit Gifts of Love.

OUR MISSION:

Gifts of Love and Community Farm of Simsbury recently merged to build the capacity of people by creating positive change in their lives, improve food security and lessen the impact of financial crisis for people in need.

We accomplish this by producing and distributing food, offering farm-based and life-skill educational programming, and providing critical, sustaining tangible supports to those in need.

Thank you for your support as we bring Farm to Family.
