Spring is finally here!  Temperatures are finally starting to warm up, I'm seeing grass again, and I can run outside without worrying about slipping and breaking a leg on the ice!

I'm still waiting to see my first robin, then I know it's official!  As the nicer weather and longer days come our way, I hope you are all invigorated and refreshed in your business as well.  If not, it's a great time to take a long weekend, relax, and come back to it with a renewed passion!

Anger In the Workplace
How To Recognize, Conquer, and Create a Positive Work Environment
Have you ever worked with someone that always seemed irritated or agitated?  You never know at what point they are just going to snap at you?  Eventually, we find that it doesn't take too long for that attitude to rub off on everyone else's attitudes as well.

Anger pushes people away and causes negativity to brew amongst employees.  Recognize the signs, challenge them, and offer solutions.

Find out how to make your workplace and more positive place to be!

Missed Calls Means Missed Business
Give Your Clients and Potential Customers the Service They Deserve

You need full time phone coverage. After all, you have no idea when the calls will come in during business hours. You can't very well tell your potential customers to check your calendar and only call when you're free. And how many of those potential customers are available when you call back? They call you when it's convenient for them; unfortunately, it is not the other way around.

So what does a full time receptionist cost to you?

Minimum wage:   $10.00

40 hours/week:   $400/week

Per month:          $1,600

**This doesn't include employer taxes, unemployment, benefits, and payroll expenses! And what about the technology, phone, desk, and office space you need to pay for?

Calls On Call provides full time receptionist coverage for a fraction of the cost!!!  PLUS, it's in our office, where the set up is already done!

Packages start at just $500/month!

The Big Dance and Social Media
March Madness Time!

I thought for this blog topic, I'd try to appeal to my followers that are sports fanatics!  Even if you're not a sports fan, it is hard not to turn on the television in late March/early April and get suckered into watching the final few seconds of a neck in neck basketball game in the craziness of March Madness.

As you have probably noticed, there are endless rules associated with the tournament, designed to cover even the most miniscule infractions.  Surprisingly enough, even though you would think these rules extend into social media, they are still yet to do be defined when it comes down to how to deal with the issue of student-athletes and social media.

Why is it such a big challenge to set up rules for social media use by student-athletes?

Featured Client Of the Month:
South Metropolitan Business Association

Each month we will highlight one of our clients to show stories of success, local products you will love, or just a unique service you may not know about!

This month we are featuring the non-profit organization SMBA!

Who They Are
The purpose of the South Metropolitan Business Association (SMBA) is to promote and improve the business environment in the Cities of Madison and Fitchburg and the Town of Madison by encouraging well planned, high-quality and balanced commercial and residential development and economic growth.  SMBA provides monthly member meetings to promote networking and business growth in the South Madison area, as well as a highly attended annual Business Expo every January.

How They Partner With Impact
Jodi Fisher is an asset to SMBA in a number of ways!  She keeps our members connected with timely newsletters to keep the membership informed.

She spear headed our launch of LinkedIN, a new networking tool for our membership, plus updates all the content on our website.

Jodi also handles the registration for our monthly luncheon meetings, including keeping track of who is attending and what their food choice is, to attending the start of our meetings to make sure they move along smoothly.

Her attention to detail in organizing board meeting agendas keeps us on task.  She also organizes the yearly business expo, a very big deal for our group!

She has taken on a new endeavor leading our first attempt at a progressive luncheon for the members and their guests that looks to be a huge success.

Her professionalism is impeccable ~not to mention that she is pleasant to work with!
