EDITOR'S NOTE

It has been a sad and difficult week in Baltimore. In Little Italy, as in so many parts of Baltimore, many events have had to be rescheduled, including Promotion Center's Spring Social, bocce leagues, classes at Pandola Learning Center, committee meetings and the Lodge's Friday Night Dinner, in addition to restaurants and businesses closing early. This was all done in keeping safety in mind first and foremost to innocent bystanders. Through today's newsletter, we hope we can add a smile to your face as we post some of the lighter sides of Baltimore life. After all, our city and our beloved Little Italy remain wonderful destinations! We WILL survive this setback and forge ahead to create a more positive future. In the meantime, pray for Baltimore, pray for Little Italy, and may peace be among its people.

"I have been to Baltimore's Little Italy ... thoroughly enjoyed all the food, the Italian nature of the people and the environment too. Some of it reminds you of Italy, the flowers, plants set out. Plan to visit again." ~ Harriet B

"A once in a lifetime event today. Sitting with Ray Alcaraz on Ray Lancelotta's bench across from Isabella's. And what do we see running down Stiles Street from Jake's corner and then running past us, only to turn and run down Albermarle Street? A DEER. Yes, the kind that lives in the forest ... and no, we weren't drunk. Unbelievable!" ~ Will Matricciani
