Every now and then your website needs a fresh look. Whether it's rebranding, or the site is getting less than stellar results because it looks like it was built back in the 90's (ugh).
A re-design can be a huge success, or it could fail terribly. It's a tedious process, but that's where Pegleg Web Designs comes to the rescue in order to make your website re-design as simple as possible.
Below are a few things to consider when re-designing your website. I'll be writing a more comprehensive list on my blog this week, so make sure you check it out for additional information.
Keep in mind that a re-design of your website will support and improve your overall marketing efforts. It will affect your social media, email marketing and sales strategies as well.

You want the re-design of your website to tie into measurable goals for your business, so consider the following objectives:
- Number of visits/visitors
- Bounce rate
- Time on site
- Domain authority
- Total amount of sales generated
- Current SEO rankings for important keywords
Many of these goals are dependent on each other. As an
example, in order to get more conversions (sales), you need to increase traffic while decreasing your bounce rate. Some objectives may be important than others, but you should have a specific goal in mind (i.e. increase site traffic by 50% in the next six months, or increase online sales and/or business by 10% within 8 - 10 months).
If all of this analytical lingo is confusing to you, Pegleg Web Designs can provide you with an SEO Consultation based on your Google Analytics information and explain it layman's terms so you understand where your online marketing stands right now and how it can be improved.

While a re-design is a great way to improve results, there are other ways it can hurt you. Existing websites contain a lot of assets that you have built up, and losing those during a re-design can damage your ranking and future marketing opportunities.
Consider the most shared and viewed content on your existing site. You don't want to get rid of it. Give it a fresh look, but revise the content and the freshen up the existing assets. Additionally, the pages that provide you with the most traffic should stay in place - DO NOT RENAME THE PAGE! Also, don't remove your best performing keywords.
