Newcomers Meeting
Newcomers meetings are open to guild members who have joined within the last year. Our next Newcomers meeting will be on Tuesday, August 18th, at 6:30 PM at the Polk County West Side Community Center (134 6th Street, West Des Moines - corner of 6th and Maple). We'll hear details about the Quilt Show and volunteering from Diane Crawford and Cindy Ohmart, our 2015 Quilt Show Chairs. We end the meeting with Show-and-Tell, so bring something you want to show off. Please join us to learn more about our guild and meet other new members on August 18th!

Tim Latimer
On September 22, Tim Latimer will be speaking on "Time Span Quilts." Tim is an award winning hand quilter from Lansing, Michigan. He enjoys quilting old tops as well as designing new quilts to hand quilt. There will be no workshops in September because of the proximity of the date to the AQS Des Moines Quilt Show. Make sure you check out the many lectures and workshops offered by AQS at the show.Jacquie Gering
On October 27, Jacquie Gering will speak on "Quilting Modern." October 28, she will teach "Slice and Insert Improv" and on October 29, "Log Cabins-Modern Makeover" will be offered. Jacquie's visit is supported by the generous contribution of the Modern Quilt Group. To register for her workshops, go to www.dmaqg.org.

| All meetings and workshops will be held at the West Des Moines Christian Church at 4501 Mills Civic Parkway in West Des Moines. To get there from Interstate 35, exit at Mills Civic Parkway, exit 70. Turn east onto Mills Civic Parkway and drive about 0.9 mile. The West Des Moines Christian Church will be on the north side of Mills Civic Parkway. Meetings are in the Sanctuary in Building 2 and workshops are in Building 3. |
