QUILTING FEATHERS WHEN YOU ARE A CHICKEN  (1/2 day class) Feathers are the most sought after designs for quilts today. For machine quilters they can be very intimidating! Spend time with Dawn learning simple approaches to creating beautiful feathers on your quilt and you'll soon say "I can!" instead of " I can't". Dawn walks you through basic principles for feather quilting and introduces several methods so that you can find a feather technique that works for you. Discover how to relax and let your quilting feathers take flight!

Wednesday, January 29, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
FEATHERS AS FILLERS (1/2 day class)
So you've figured out how to do a feather. and now you're ready to take that knowledge up a notch and learn how to make that feather curl, grow and swirl. Dawn shows the secrets to correct feather orientation, how to control your feather turns, and how to make the feathers look graceful and flowing instead of lumpy and clumsy. Once you know how to properly divide the space and let your feather branches "play nice", you'll never have a naked spot on your quilt again!

Thursday, January 30, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
BACKGROUND GRID WORK FILLERS
As we quilters become more savvy, we look for even more ways to make our quilting special. Learn how to create intricate background fills that look complex, but are really a breeze to quilt, with Dawn's simple instructions. From diamond crosshatching to clematis leaves and tiny feathers, you'll discover a whole new way to look at background quilting.
