 Newcomers Meeting
Wow, what a great Newcomers meeting we had in May! Leigh Lussie and Mary Martin showed us how to hand applique.
In June, the fun just keeps on keeping on. Nan Earll will be giving us a paper piecing demonstration and she will have a handout to help guide us when we try our hand at paper piecing. The Guild has four fine Directors at Large. One, if not more, will be at the meeting to explain what these gals do for the Guild.
Remember, if you have been a member of the Des Moines Area Quilters Guild for less than one year you are welcome to attend the Newcomers meetings for that year. An extra bonus for your annual dues is that there is no extra charge for attending our Newcomers meetings!
What: Newcomers Meeting Where: Urbandale Library Room B 3520 86th, Urbandale, IA When: Tuesday, June 18, 2013 6:30- 8:30 p.m. Why: To learn how to hand applique Who: Any Des Moines Area Quilt Guild member who has been in the guild less than one year

2013 Workshops
I hope everyone enjoyed Rachel Clark's presentations last month. Her work is so colorful and whimsical! I'm feeling inspired to make a coat... Hmm, now to just add a few more hours to each day.
This month we welcome Susan K. Cleveland for a return visit to our guild. She has been a busy lady during the past five years, and I'm sure she will have dozens of new ideas to share with us. The Piping Hot Macaroni workshop on Wednesday, June 26 is full, but there are still openings for the Prairie Point Pillow workshop on Thursday, June 27. Please join us!
