Provide your name, contact info, type of coffee, grind, and amount you want, and deliveries will be made the following Sunday (unless you arrange otherwise). he Reverend Alice Syltie, Worship Leader

Kiya Heartwood is an award-winning and internationally touring singer-songwriter.She joins us, once again, this Sunday, following her three week tour to the UK, culminating in the Edinburgh Fringe Fest in Edinburgh, Scotland. Following last year's tour, Dave Fargnoli of Three Weeks Magazine wrote, "Channeling down-home friendliness and shades of Janis Joplin, Heartwood is a fine and engaging storyteller.Quickly winning over the crowd, she soon has the audience singing along, and leaves them pondering those seldom told tales."Kiya makes her happy home in Austin, TX with her wife, Unitarian Universalist minister the Reverend Meg Barnhouse." "Cuba--Old Cars and Big Cigars"

You are invited to join Bob Weed and Barbara & Gary Hitt on Friday, August 28, 7:00-9:00 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall at UUCH for a presentation: "Cuba--Old Cars and Big Cigars."

We will be showing a multi-media presentation of our April trip to Cuba. Join us as we share our tour of Cuba with you, from the mountains to the sea, from old Trinidad to the Bay of Pigs to the metropolis of Havana. We enjoyed visiting with school children, talking to families in their homes and on their farms, and seeing artists working in their studios.

We were often serenaded by musical groups as we enjoyed Cuban food, usually served with Vitamin "R" (Rum!). Avid birder Gary added 25 birds to his Life List; Bob chatted in fluent Spanish with Cubans; while Barbara tried to capture the ambiance, the people, the merging of old and new Cuba.

Since we are considering our presentation to be an early Service Auction offering, we are asking for a donation of $10 to $20 for adults. Children are welcome at no charge. If needed, we will provide child care. We will provide light refreshments (but no Vitamin "R").

We need a head count to plan refreshments, so please RSVP: Barbara at [email protected].
Awareness Through Movement is Back--beginning September 12th.

Everyone is welcome! This Feldenkrais group class is designed to improve self-awareness and mobility. The class will be verbally guided through gentle movement sequences. These new movement patterns will enable you to move with greater ease and fluidity.

This Adult RE class is drop-in, no experience necessary, and will be led by Sally Locklear. Wear comfortable, loose clothing, and bring a bath towel to use as a head support. This Fall's Classes begin on September 12th, and will be held on Saturday mornings at 10:00 a.m. until further notice.

For further information, contact Nancy Finley at [email protected]. If you need childcare for this event, please contact Nancy at least a week before the event.

Jack Long, a candle of concern: " Echo has her operation for pancreatic cancer on Monday, the 24th. The operation takes 8 hours, and she will be in the hospital at least 10 days. Prayers and thoughts of concern are welcome."

Pam Siegler, a candle of joy: "Thank you to all who shared the Sing Celebration on Wednesday. The fellowship in music, food, and conversation was wonderful!"

Mari Hinckley, a candle of joy: "So very happy to learn that Denise Hunter-Gilbert is coming back to the choir!"

Claudia and Mike Carson, a candle of both joy and sorrow: "I'm happy to have my dad, Javier, visiting us from Miami, Florida.
