We CAN Reach 100!
Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to take 123 items to the Huntsville Assistance program for the month of June.
Way to give!
Huntsville Assistance Program representatives say that other donations have fallen off and they need our help more than ever, so please check your pantry, and/or pick up an extra item on your next shopping trip. Suggested donations: macaroni and cheese, pasta and sauce, dry beans and rice, boxes of cereal, bars of soap, canned meat, and peanut butter!
Thanks in advance!

"Prayer for Unitarian Universalists"
John Czachurski
Unitarian Universalists tend not to emphasize prayer to the degree that some other faith groups do, and, as a non-creedal faith, we have no requirement that it be practiced. Yet prayer is an integral spiritual practice for many of us. For Unitarian Universalists, what is prayer? To whom or to what do we pray? This Sunday's service, led by John Czachurski, will consider how a theologically liberal understanding of prayer can enrich our lives.

Care Cards!
Barbara Hitt and Kathy Heath will be helping the children make Care Cards on Sunday. The Care Committee sends these very special cards to members of our congregation who are suffering from health concerns or loss or just need cheering up. They will bring a smile to your face. Last time, one very precocious little UU wrote on his card "Get the word sick out of people's vocabulary!"
Nursery care (ages 0-3) will be provided as usual. For more information, contact Erin Reid, our Director of Religious Education (DRE) (256.694.6786 or eereid@hotmail.com) or Jessica Zelaya, RE Chair (256.322.2210 or asuriai@yahoo.com)

Care List
At our Circle of Candles on Sunday, July 12th, candles were lit for:
Debbie Carswell, a candle of joy: "Although my grief is still crippling, the overwhelming love and support our church family showed Tuesday night in Bailey's memory brought light to a very dark and empty place in my heart. I rejoice in the fact that Bailey had such a wonderful, loving church home full of members who clearly cherished her. Thanks to all of you who touched her life. You did indeed bring her joy."
The Aycocks, a candle of joy and concern: "We have entered the process of trying to take custody of our nephew who is 16 months old. He has been in foster care since birth. We have the final date of August 10 to find out if we get to care for him, or if he goes into the system. We know what happens is for the best. We get to visit him on Mondays until then."
Kathy Fisher, a candle of sorrow: "Please hold my daughter-in-law's nephew, L J , in your hearts as he faces serious health issues."
Samantha Minor, a candle of joy and sorrow: "This is both a joy and sorrow in several ways. Wednesday will be my last day in Huntsville living with Wanda and Amanda. I'll miss being with them every day, but I have really enjoyed my time up here. I'm so thankful for all they've done for me over the past few months."
If you have pastoral care needs, please contact the
