Coffee Orders for the Summer Months Fair Trade coffee will be available during the summer months by order only. If you would like to purchase Kaffeeklatsch coffee to benefit the Social Justice program, place your order on Sunday, and the coffee will be available the next Sunday. Please write your order on the notebook at the back of the sanctuary, specifying regular or decaf and indicating whether you want your coffee in whole bean or ground for drip, French Press, or espresso. Please see Kathy Heath or Tonia Betts if you have any questions.
Your Social Justice Committee still has Equal Exchange Fair Trade chocolate for sale in the back of the sanctuary each Sunday, but summer is coming--soon it will be too hot to ship. Better Stock Up!
With Fair Trade products, everyone wins!

Upcoming Services
Sunday, June 22nd, 2014
"Pride in the Rocket City" Presented by Interweave and the Worship Committee Sparked as a response to a police raid in 1969 at a gay bar in New York City, Pride Celebrations can be found today in almost every country around the globe. As June marks Pride Month in most places, this Sunday Huntsville will be joining in the festivities with the third annual Rocket City Pride Day. Before the parade downtown, join us at UUCH as Interweave and the Worship Committee reflect on Pride in the Rocket City. We'll celebrate with personal stories, poetry, prose and special music by Alli Johnson and John Czachurski.

Each week, a different church member or friend will pilot a fun adventure with children and youth with an experienced crew of helpers. Look forward to visiting other worlds like Theatre Games, Lego, Collage Making, and more! And make a voyage into our own future with crafts and art projects that will become part of the RE area in our new church home on Planet Broadmor! The journey continues! ON DECK THIS WEEK: "Camp Fire Songs!" Led by Laurie Keller and Diedre Moore, with Denise Hunter-Gilbert and Erin Reid assisting.
Nursery care (ages 0-3) will be provided as usual. For more information, contact Erin Reid, our Director of Religious Education (DRE) (256.694.6786 or eereid@hotmail.com).

UUCH Supports Rocket City Pride-- with YOUR Help!
Our Interweave group will set up a UUCH sponsored booth at the Rocket City Pride event this Sunday, June 22nd. It would be great to have a canopy over the tables but the church does not yet own one. If you have a canopy that you would be willing to share for the event or you are interested in helping with the booth or set up, please contact Denise Runnels (drrunnel@gmail.com). We hope you join us at the Historic Depot and Roundhouse downtown to show that UUCH supports the right for equality currently lacking in our society. Event begins at noon and lasts until 8:00 p.m.

Social Justice News!
Our next Social Justice meeting will be Sunday, June 29th at 9:30 a.m. We will set up for meal pack assembly for the homeless by the RE kids, and we will discuss summer activities. We'll have bagels. If you need childcare, please let Tonia know at (256) 882-9891. Everyone is welcome! In April and May, we fell short of our goal to donate 100 non-perishable food and personal care items to the Huntsville Assistance Program. Can you pick up an item or two when you shop? Here are some ideas for supplies that HAP needs a lot of--but any donations are welcome and appreciated! - Macaroni and cheese
- Pasta and Sauce
- Dry beans and rice
- Boxes of cereal
- Bars of soap
- Canned meat
- Peanut butter
Thanks in advance! Let's Fill the Basket!

Broadmor Briefing
Our sanctuary HVAC installer, Hutchens, continues installation of the sanctuary, foyer, and kitchen HVAC systems. Upcoming contractor activities include:
sanctuary bathroom renovation; new supply water installation; RE Wing and Fellowship Hall window replacement overseen by our architect; installation of carpet in the sanctuary, foyer, and balcony; installation of vinyl composite tiles (VCT) in the RE Wing.
Over the next few months there will be several opportunities for volunteer efforts--we'll be completing many details as we get closer to moving into the new facility. Stay tuned for ways you can help!

 Care List
At our Circle of Candles on Sunday, June 15th, candles were lit for:
Tim & Theresa Miller: "Our new grand-babies, Amelia Anne and John Garrett are two weeks old today. We spent a week visiting in N.C. We have pictures!" Meredith Lorge: "It's a privilege to have the first candle ever lit for me be in honor of my favorite person in the entire world. My Great Aunt, May Friel Brown, passed away on Friday, June 13th, 2014 at around 10:00 p.m. Atlanta time. She was 99 years old, and would have been 100 on September 22nd. In my eyes though, she made it to the full 100, even though she wasn't able to receive her 100th birthday call from [President] Obama. Rest in peace, Aunt Friel. I love you forever." Lynsie Lamitie: "Happy Father's Day! Grateful for my amazing dad who was a stay-at-home mom for a lot of my life. And grateful for all the other wonderful dads in our congregation." Susan Coddington: "I'm excited that Marc, Judy, Emma, and Max Stettner are here for their annual visit this week!" Marc & Judy Stettner: "Very happy to be back for a visit and bring greetings from Tree of Life UU Congregation in McHenry, IL!"
If you have pastoral care needs, please contact the Reverend Alice Syltie at revaluu@aol.com. Barbara Hitt is Chair of the Care Committee, and may be reached at home, (256) 881.2531; on her cell, (256) 348.5845; or by email at bghitt1@comcast.net.
