City goes mobile with 311 service
GoRequest app lets citizens make services requests with their smart phones
Beaumont, Texas - Citizens can now report potholes, leaking water mains, graffiti, and a host of other issues using their smart phones with the launch of the city's GoRequest mobile application.

Smart phone users simply open the application, select an issue, take a picture, and tap submit. The application picks up your exact location and sends the request to the city's 311 service request staff.

"Our 311 Service Request program has been extremely successful, allowing us to address issues more quickly and efficiently," said Mayor Becky Ames.  "With the addition of a mobile app, we hope even more citizens will take advantage of 311."

The GPS and camera features built into iPhone and Android devices make it simple for residents to alert city officials about a variety of issues around the clock, while they're mobile.  Residents will know their issue went to the right person without ever going to an office or sitting down at a computer, and they can also receive status updates on their request.

The smart phone application can be downloaded by searching for "GoRequest" in the Apple App store or Google Play store. There is no charge to download the application.

Citizens can report the following using the app:
*    Dead, stray or biting animal
*    Litter/weeds/junk cars
*    leaking or discolored water
*    Stopped or overflowing sewage
*    excess storm water
*    street maintenance
*    light, sign or signal maintenance
*    parks or property maintenance
