July Fourth Celebration Moves Back to Riverfront Park
Now that renovations to the park are complete, the city's annual Fourth of July Celebration will again take place in Riverfront Park. The Fourth of July Celebration offers a rollicking salute to our nation's past, including performances by local musical groups. The Symphony of Southeast Texas will perform at the Julie Rogers Theatre. Gates open and live performances begin at 5 p.m. The orchestra performance begins at 8 p.m., and fireworks over the Neches River begin at 9 p.m. Entrance to the park is downtown, between City Hall and the Civic Center on Main Street. |
Share Your Pet Memories at the Library
Have you had a favorite pet? The Main Branch of the Beaumont Public Library System invites patrons to share memories of their favorite pet or pets. Bring photos or other memorabilia like a favorite toy. Remembering Pets will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26. The Main Library is located at 801 Pearl Street, and the program is free and open to the public. For more information, call 409-838-6606.

Pet of the Week
Roux is again our pet of the week. She is a 1-year-old tabby mix. She just finished weaning her litter of kittens, and is ready to find a home of her own. She has a very gentle disposition and loves being held. She is litter box trained and likes children and other pets.
The city animal shelter is located at 1884 Pine St., and is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
