Greetings!
I am writing at the end of our first weekend of snow. Much of the world is alternating between curling up comfortably inside and getting some sun and snow play outside. But I've been working.
This is the start of something special. Let me tell you about NLP in a Nutshell. It's going to be the most fun, most effective series of short courses we have ever offered. Whether you are already a practitioner or completely new to NLP, these courses will present NLP in a way that focuses and energizes you. When you learn to LEAD, to FEAST and to DARE with NLP, you'll learn that being your best can come naturally. We're getting rid of the jargon and the complications and simply helping people learn more quickly and hold on to what they learn. Please help us spread the word: this is NLP without the anxiety of too many technical terms and not enough practical application.
It's only the beginning. In April, we will be launching a new training in coaching conversations that will offer experienced coaches and practitioners what they need to go deeper, to understand better, and to get results more quickly. If you've ever looked at a range of models and wished you knew how to combine them for maximum effect, you will want to join the class on April 6/7, 2013.
No one else is providing this kind of context. We're breaking down the barriers between models to give you the most sophisticated learning in the most completely natural form. I guarantee that advanced training with us will change the way you use your current toolkit so that you get more satisfying results. And it's only the beginning. NeuroLeadership is coming in June and it's going to take participants to a new level in facilitation, speaking and training.
We hope you'll be part of the shift as we grow.
 Linda Ferguson, Ph.D. Senior Partner

What's Changed at the NLP Canada Training Website?
I've been doing some work on the website and I would like to take you on a tour. It may have been awhile since you checked in at www.nlpcanada.com and if you don't click on some of the tabs, you might not realize how much we've evolved.
Let's start on the home page. One easy way to connect with the network of like-minded people at NLPCT is to use the tweet and facebook like buttons to let people know that you're visiting. Our twitter feed is also on display: are you following us yet?
You can navigate the site by clicking on the tabs at the top. I want to draw your attention to three of them: Training, About Us, and Free NLP. Each of these will help you understand why NLPCT is a great place to train and a great resource for fresh ideas on how to pull yourself together, overcome challenges, and influence people and situations.
What's special about our training section? It's organized into three broad categories: introductions and applications; certifications, and advanced training for practitioners and other professionals. Many NLP institutes offer only a short introduction to NLP, practitioner certifications, and maybe one or two application courses (at most). We offer a full range of courses so that you can always visit us and learn something new, whether it's your first visit or you've been coming back for ten years or more. We can offer this range of courses because Linda Ferguson is a professional educator who collaborates with specialists in different areas to ensure that our training is both current and exceptionally practical and effective.
You can learn more about the team of people who drive our development in the about us section. Some of the section focuses on me: I want you to know that I walk my talk, that I have the respect of very good people, and that I am committed to using the best research and practices so that I can deliver the very best possible training. To ensure that this research connects practically with what you need, I have a wonderful Advisory Board. The Board is made up of past clients who have trained with me to the Master Practitioner or Trainer level. Each of them is also a successful professional working in his/her own field or business, and there's enough information for you to follow the links and be as impressed by them as I am. Several of them are also represented on the trainers page. Click on links to their businesses and discover just how skilled and professional these trainers are in their own fields. The training practitioners are now going through a rigorous combination of advanced courses and apprenticeship before achieving their certification as trainers.
And before we leave our tour today, I want to take a quick look at the Free NLP section. Many other companies offer you a few articles or a single exercise as a hook to get you to join their mailing lists. We are the only company that takes seriously the responsibility to make the best thinking and the best practices available to the widest range of people. That's why we have both written and video resources; that's why we offer more than 60 short articles, several curated web collections of resources, and even some course materials. You could spend several days going through this much quality information.
Next month we'll take another look at the web resources, the events section, and why Linda's book, SHIFTWORK, represents a breakthrough in thinking about how NLP works.

Linda's MoMonday Story
On January 28, Linda joined the line up at MoMonday Toronto. MoMondays are the brainchild of Michel Neray, a Master Practitioner of NLP and member of the NLP Canada Training Advisory Board. He thought it would be fun to have an open mike night for motivation speakers.
It has been so much fun that MoMonday is now spreading across Canada and into the States. In February 2012, about 15 people gathered for the very first MoMonday event. Now, the room in Toronto sells out at about 130 people. There are MoMonday events in Toronto, Oakville/Burlington, Winnipeg, Calgary, Montreal and Buffalo and more are on the way.

What did Linda take to MoMonday? A story, of course. If you're not sure how a story can be motivational, just listen. You'll find that a very old story about a boy and some sea monsters has links to a very current monster story (and maybe to some battles you've been fighting).
Listen to the story here.
And if you want to know what happens next, click here. Sarah's blog might make you cry, but they'll be the good kind of tears. Then click here to check that you are registered to be an organ donor (and make sure your family knows too).

The Greatest Thing Since Peanut Butter: NLP in a Nutshell
The most important thing to know about NLP is what you can do with it. No one wants to learn long lists of complicated terminology. No one needs to pass a pop quiz on NLP concepts. What people want is to feel terrific about who they are and how they influence the people around them. We're launching a new series of courses for people who want to skip the jargon and learn something that they can use as soon as they leave the training.
The new series is called "NLP in a Nutshell" and it offers you something that is fun, good for you, and extremely effective contained in a small, durable package.
There are three main reasons people study NLP:
1) They want to be better at sales and influence
2) They want to deal with something that is bothering them
3) They want to help others to meet goals and overcome obstacles.
NLP in a Nutshell a one day course in sales, a one day course in personal change, and a one day course in coaching. Each course will take you through an easy-to-remember process for getting more satisfaction and introduce you to some tools and techniques to make your process more effective.
Other people will notice that after just one day you are more fun to work with, more effective, and more satisfied by your efforts. You may notice that you have fresh enthusiasm for work, a stronger sense of focus and a better appreciation for your relationships.
Do you like teaching that is down to earth, fun, and easy to apply? That's NLP in a Nutshell.
