Wal-Mart Development Project - Update
The proposed Wal-Mart development planned for University Boulevard has completed the township land use approval process. PennDOT issued Highway Occupancy Permits to Wal-Mart in December 2013 for the traffic improvements related to the proposed development. In January 2014, the MoonFirst neighborhood group appealed the issuance of the HOPs. That appeal is currently proceeding through the PennDOT administrative appeal process to determine if the HOPs were properly issued. The timeline of how long this appeal will take is uncertain given PennDOT's multi-stage appeal process and MoonFirst's ability to ultimately appeal PennDOT's decision to Commonwealth Court.
