Ancestral Medicine

Greetings all!

As the days wane toward the autumnal equinox, many of us in the Northern hemisphere enter a time that includes heightened ancestor reverence and ritual. How do you give time, care, and remembrance to your beloved dead? If this is not a habit, what stops you from inviting conscious relationship with your ancestors?

This ancestor season I'll guide ancestral healing intensives in Berkeley, CA; Asheville, NC; Athens, GA; and Saxapahaw, NC. Participants will dive into depth healing and transformative work with their family ancestors and learn a long-term framework and tangible practices for tending over time with their specific lineage dead.

I'm also happy to be returning to the S.F. Bay Area in October for the fifth time since moving in 2014. In addition to ancestral tending, this will include a weekend on the land at Portola Redwoods State Park, Oct 17-18th, Honoring Spirits of Place and a day training Remembering and Living Your Personal Destiny in Berkeley, Oct 22nd.

Finally, I offer individual sessions by phone, Skype, or in-person in Asheville (and where I travel). Sessions can include spiritual guidance/mentorship, ancestral and personal healing, and also consultant support for building a prosperous practice sharing your gifts with the world.

Asheville, North Carolina

Thanks to local spirit folk and land stewards Kevin and John for hosting a beautiful peace tree ceremony in August to honor the local ancestors. I'm excited to be slowly getting to know the land and good people here, and I continue to welcome suggestions on earth-honoring rituals that would be beneficial here. In the meantime, everyone with ancestors, those who dream, and folks who enjoy relationships with other humans are encouraged to check out the 2015 offerings.

Thanks to all who participated in the recent teaching and day-long grief ritual in Athens! I'm grateful for the warm welcome and deepening connections in Georgia and I'm glad to be returning this month for a talk and day training on ways to help our everyday, important relationships to be excellent. Thanks to Bob and Judy at Peacefalls for inviting the consecration of a shrine to honor the animal spirit folk of the N.C. Piedmont. In September we'll continue by consecrating the fourth of four natural altars (a Mongolian-style peace tree) at the Piedmont Wildlife Center in Durham, NC. I'll also be around for individual sessions and the monthly circle at the FlowJo in Carrboro.

I'm happy to be heading back out to the Bay Area in October for quality time on the land and another ancestors intensive in Berkeley. Please note the new offering on remembering purpose and destiny. Advance confirmation for the offerings is helpful (and necessary for lodge and the camping overnight). Especially during lodge and the overnight, we'll include ritual to honor and thanks the returning rains.

Individual Sessions

Individual sessions tend to be about ancestral and family repair work, spiritual guidance and mentorship, or occasionally consultation and support for folks building a holistic healing practice. People sometimes reach out to try to make sense of a spiritual calling, so that's welcome, and I'm also a psychotherapist with a Ph.D. in psychology if you're struggling with the 1,001 things of life and just want to approach it all from a more 'spiritual' angle.

Monthly Ancestor Work Support Call

Tuesday, September 15th

This free, open-to-all monthly call is for anyone seeking to relate well with their ancestors. All questions about engaging your ancestors & the dead are welcome.

No cost to call, and if the time is helpful, donations of any amount are welcome (ancestralmedicine@gmail.com via Paypal). To join call (712) 432-1212 // Meeting ID: 558-294-141.
