All performances of Oklahoma! are now SOLD OUT.  The Tuesday, March 5 dress rehearsal has been opened to the public.  Tickets are $5 at the door with general seating. The pre-show will begin at 5 pm and Oklahoma! will begin at approximiately 6:15 pm.  Please be aware that this is a "working" dress rehearsal and the performance will be stopped as needed for adjustments or cast instructions.

Call For Volunteers:  The Landmark Parent Association (LPA) is in need of committee members to help plan this year's Faculty and Staff Appreciation luncheon.  If you are interested, please attend a meeting on Wednesday, February 27 at 2:00 in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church of Fairburn (directly across from Landmark).

Spring Talent Show Auditions: Wednesday, March 13 - Middle and high school students, Tuesday, March 19 - Elementary students

Auditions will take place in The Studio beside the Black Box Theatre.  Sign up and get audition information packets outside of Mr. Johnson's room or click the links below.  Peachtree City families may contact Cindy Perkins to schedule an audition at (770) 692-6781 or cperkins@landmark-cs.org.  The talent show and auction is Friday, April 12 at 6 pm at Dogwood Church in Tyrone.

It is time to start the financial aid process.  Please find information on how to apply for financial aid on the Admissions drop down section on Landmark's web page.  Aid is available for grades 1 - 12.  The deadline to apply is 2/28/13 for the application and 3/15/13 for the requested tax documentation.  Your completed 2012 tax return is required to apply for aid.  All current financial aid recipients must re-apply in order to be eligible to receive aid for the upcoming 2013/14 school year.

The Six Flags Read to Succeed Six Hour Reading Program is open to grades K5 through 6th to encourage students to read for fun.  Every student who completes six hours of recreational reading before the deadlines noted below is eligible for a free admission ticket valid at participating Six Flags Theme Parks.  Reading for homework, or a class assignment does not count.  Click here to print a reading log or students may obtain one from their teacher.  Parents must validate every entry and each day must be annotated with the book's title and time read on the logs.  Competed logs are to be turned in to the teacher.  Peachtree City campus deadline: Monday, Feb. 25, 3:15 pm, Fairburn campus deadline: Wednesday, Feb. 27, 3:30 pm

Congratulations!

The varsity boys' basketball team has a 18-7 record and is currently in the top 10 of power rankings as they head into Region play.  Landmark also compiled a 7-1 record against 4A and 5A schools they competed against. In addition, Justin Ross and Malachi Dozier were selected to the 10 man All-Region team. Justin Ross was one of two players who were unanimous selections.  Tonight at 8:30 pm, the team will play W.D. Mohammed at Pace Academy for a chance to advance to the region championship on Saturday.  (If they win tonight, they will play at 6:30 pm tomorrow at Pace Academy.)

Congratulations to the varsity girls' basketball team on their strong final outing of the season. The girls lost an extremely close battle with ELCA 33-37. Abby Johns led all scorers with 12 points and had 17 monster rebounds. Diamond Smith added 7 points, Jillian Price had 6 points, Morgan McWilliams and Anna Wilke scored 4 points each. Congratulations on an awesome basketball season Lady War Eagles!

Congratulations to freshman Payton Hayes on his 3rd place finish in the first round of the state wrestling tournament in Rome, Georgia last weekend. He will wrestle today and Saturday in Macon for a State Title.

(There are a few that are open to 8th graders).  You may also log on to Landmark's website and click on the "College Planning" page.  Of note is the Georgia Tech CEISMC summer program which opens registration on Friday, February 15.  This affordable and popular summer program fills up quickly.   

 

 

The scholarship list has also been updated.

The District Convention for Key Club will be held on March 1-3, 2013 at the Atlanta Marriott Century Center. More information on the convention can be found at www.gakeyclub.org/dcon. All students planning to attend must have permission slips, medical release forms, and Code of Conduct signed and turned into Mrs. Glaize by Feb. 25, 2013.
