Congratulations!     

The varsity swim team took second place at the Douglas County Winter Swimming Invitational on Friday, January 11. Each swimmer continues to drop their times. Courtney Gilliam dropped 7 seconds off her 50 Freestyle time (29.00). Beau Franklin dropped an amazing 29 seconds off his 500 Freestyle time (6:49.85). Julia Hoover lowered her 100 Breaststroke time by 10 seconds (2:03.74), and the boys 400 Freestyle Relay lowered their time by 20 seconds (4:34.49). Congratulations on the highest finish in a meet in 10 years!

The MS swim team finished their season on Saturday at the Middle School Mania Championship in Macon. They did an outstanding job and should be proud of their accomplishments. Holly Hatch (5th Grade) dropped more than 9 seconds off her 200 Freestyle time. Michael Messer lowered his 100 Freestyle time by more than 13 seconds, and Skye Walker dropped an amazing 21 seconds off her 100 Freestyle time. Congratulations on a great meet and great season.

Tell A Friend! Landmark will host its 2013 Open House dates on Sunday, January 27 at 2pm in Fairburn, and Saturday, February 2 at 2 pm in Peachtree City.  You are are very best ambassadors so please tell a friend - or two or three - about our great school!

Middle School Baseball tryouts will be on January 26th at the LCS baseball field.

8th graders will try out at 2:00 and 6th/7th graders will try out at 3:00. Players should bring cleats and tennis shoes, baseball glove, bat, etc.  For more information contact Phil Williams or Wayne Brantley.

There will be an information meeting for parents of all students participating in track this spring on Tuesday, January 22 at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria.  Please plan to have at least one parent present.

The Winter Arts Showcase will be Thursday, January 24th at 6:30 pm in the Black Box Theatre and will feature artwork from Landmark Elementary, Middle, and High School students.

Parents in Prayer meets each Wednesday morning at 7:30 am for a time of prayer. We meet in the Admissions Waiting Office from 7:30-8:00 a.m. Come and join us! If you have questions or would like to add a prayer request or praise to our prayer list, please email Pastor Aguirre at raguirre@landmark-cs.org. 

 

Service 
 

 The middle and high school girls basketball teams collected personal care items and created gift bags for the women & children of City of Refuge. On December 26th, some of the varsity girls delivered the gift bags and served dinner at City of Refuge. A big thank you to the Lawrence, Smith, Williams, Nelson, Stucker, Harrison, Frady, Cusumano and Carlyle families for your help serving!

  • The application deadline for the University of Georgia is January 15. 
  •  Seniors need to bring in acceptance letters, scholarship letters, etc.  The Wall of Fame will be going up in the next two weeks. 
  • Be sure to check the updated list of scholarships.  There are several with deadlines approaching.
