Congratulations!
It's a girl! Congratulations to High school English teacher Matthew Huff and his wife Kristen, on the arrival of their daughter Julianna Elise. Julianna was born yesterday afternoon and mom and daughter are said to be doing well.

Congratulations to the 1st - 5th grade students that qualified to compete in yesterday's spelling bee. The top four in 1-4 grade will advance to the ACSI District Bee in Kennesaw in February. The top four in 5th grade advance to the ACSI District Bee at Creekside Academy in McDonough in March Pictured at left are the top four finishers in the 4th grade. (l-r Peter Chapman 1st place, Micah McAllister 2nd place, Grace Mitchell 3rd place, and Carter Carlyle 4th place). They were the last group to finish up the day with an amazing 55 rounds of words to determine a 1st place winner! (Click here to view the photo gallery from the spelling bee.)

Congratulations to senior forward Justin Ross, the newest member of the Landmark basketball 1,000 point club. The second team member to attain this feat in the last two years, Justin scored his thousandth point on December 20 in a 62-43 win over Mt. Dora, a Class AAAA school. The win was in the opening round of the Kiwanis Christmas Invitational in Gainesville, Florida. Justin is averaging 21 points per game this season. He will be honored on January 18 before the boys game.

In wrestling action, Landmark placed third in their area duals tournament last weekend. They defeated Brookstone 42-24, First Presbyterian Day 48-24 and Georgia Military Academy 52-20.

K4 Muffins with Mom!
'M' is for muffins...with moms! Yesterday, our K4 classes celebrated the letter 'M' by inviting their moms to join them for muffins and juice. The students played a trivia game with their special guests to wrap up the morning.

Tell A Friend! Landmark will host its 2013 Open House dates on Sunday, January 27 at 2pm in Fairburn, and Saturday, February 2 at 2 pm in Peachtree City. You are are very best ambassadors so please tell a friend - or two or three - about our great school!

- Junior parent meeting - Thursday, Jan 17.
- The application deadline for the University of Georgia is January 15.
- Seniors need to bring in acceptance letters, scholarship letters, etc. The Wall of Fame will be going up in the next two weeks.
- Be sure to check the updated list of scholarships. There are several with deadlines approaching.
