Congratulations!
Congratulations to the Varsity Quiz Bowl Team who dominated all the other competition this past Saturday in their first tournament of the year. Landmark won all six of their matches to take first place. The tournament was part of the regular season involving other Christian quiz bowl teams from Hebron Christian Academy, Mt. Paran Christian School, Providence Christian Academy, and Prince Avenue Christian Academy. The varsity team was strongly represented by seniors Connor Swords, Noah Ballard, Jon-Paul Reed, Alex Simpson and junior Samuel Choi. The JV team of Mason Mahaffey and Amanda Barry did exceptionally well in their first tournament of the year playing as only a two person team against other teams of five. We are looking forward to some very strong outings throughout the remainder of the year.
Congratulations to the Varsity Football team on a great season. The 9-4 War Eagles were very close to a repeat appearance at the Georgia Dome but fell to Prince Avenue Christian in the semifinal game last Friday in Athens. This was just the second team in school history to reach the semifinals. With both quarterbacks and junior running back Jeremiah Kirkland returning, next season will be another one to watch in Class A football. Congratulations also to Jeremiah for accumulating 2,000 rushing yards this season.
The middle school boys A team defeated St. Jude on Saturday. The team was led by Wix Patton with 21 points. The B Team was defeated by St. Jude's 7th grade team. Leading scorers were Micah McAllister with 12 points and Trey Bedosky with three points.
The MS and HS Swim Teams both had meets last weekend with everyone continuing to improve their times. Madison Fundora and Carolyn Adams are very close to breaking some school records and Beau Franklin dropped 18 seconds off of his 500 Free time. Great job swimmers!
The varsity boys basketball team defeated Galloway 84-65 on December 8. The team was led in scoring by Justin Ross with 26 points, and Malachi Dozier and Austin Luckie with 21 points each. The varsity boys are 4-2 and are currently ranked fourth in the state.

News
Several members of the Jr. Beta Club used their time, talent, and love to decorate the bulletin boards of elderly residents who live in Baptist Manor, an assisted living facility at Georgia Baptist Children's Home. The residents have an annual contest where judges select the board adorned with the best Christmas decorations. However, some of these residents don't have nearby loved ones to decorate their boards for them. Thank you, Jr. Beta Club members, for your compassion! Landmark basketball coaches Chip McAllister and Karen Frady took members of the boys and girls middle and high school basketball teams to Passion City Church in Atlanta on December 6.
