The Atlanta Track Club recognized Landmark girls cross country team runners Kathryn Foreman and Lindy Long at their annual banquet held at the Westminster School in Atlanta on December 5.   Landmark Christian School freshman Kathryn Foreman and senior Lindy Long were both honored as the 2012 Outstanding Cross Country Women of the Year. This is the fourth consecutive year that Lindy has held this honor, which comes on the heels of Landmark's recent cross country state championship.  This is the seventh state championship for the Lady War Eagles in the past ten years. Both young ladies, and coaches Bill Thorn and Martha Akin, were named to the 2012 All-Metro High School Cross Country Team.

Congratulations to junior Morgan McWilliams, sophomore Ginny Hearn, and freshman Kali Tibbetts for receiving All-Region Honors for softball this year! Morgan received All-Region Honorable Mention honors, and Ginny and Kali were voted onto the All-Region First Team. Great job ladies!

Junior Landmark cheerleader Madison Smith was also selected as UCA All American cheerleaders this summer at UCA camp in Destin, Fl. Although she will be unable to attend, her selection earned her an invitation to cheer in London over the News Year's holiday.  Congratulations Madison!

____________

Landmark's middle school cheer team traveled to Duluth this past Sunday to compete in the Cheersport Grand Championships. This event hosted over 100 cheerleading teams from across the Southeast in a one-day event at the Gwinnett Arena. The Landmark Middle School Cheerleading team competed in the middle school Level 3 division and won FIRST place!! The girls received a trophy for the school, individual first place medals, and a Grand Champions banner.

The squad also got an opportunity to "stunt" with the Peachtree City Fire Department on last Saturday. The Peachtree City fire department was out spreading the word about fire safety when "Santa" noticed the Landmark cheerleaders practicing for that Sunday's cheer competition and asked if he could have a picture with them!
Service Opportunity

The next opportunity for Landmark families to serve our immediate community is the Campbell Christmas outreach, a Landmark tradition. This special outreach provides a Christmas shopping experience for 50 children from Campbell Elementary. To participate, take an envelope from the Campbell Christmas tree (pictured above and located in the Fairburn campus lobby) enclose the dollar amount written on the envelope, and return it to the front office before Friday, December 21.
General Info:
