Trot for Troops 5K Walk/Run
Rhonda and Shanna participated in the Trot for Troops 5K in West Bend on Saturday, Sept 8th. It was a great way to start off the day with a 3.1 mile walk/run through the beautiful parks in West Bend. Next year's walk/run is already scheduled for September 7, 2013.
Electronic Health Records
In staying current with today's technology, Chiro-Health will be implementing Electronic Health Records. You may have noticed additional computers throughout the office which will enable Dr. Munson to electronically keep and update patient records. Recipe Corner
| | Smoky Beet Chips
Rich in betaine, fiber, folate, manganese and a unique blend of antioxidants, it's hard to beat a beet for nutritional value.
Ingredients
- 2 medium beets, scrubbed clean (no need to peel)
- 4 egg whites
- 1teaspoon smoked paprika powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Sprayable olive oil or oil of your choice
- Celtic Sea Salt
Directions Preheat your oven to 375 degrees (350 degrees for convection). Thinly slice the beet s to a uniform thickness, and place them in a bowl of water. A mandolin slicer works well for this. Rinse the beets until the water runs clear, then pat them dry with a clean towel.
In a shallow dish, beat the egg whites, paprika, and garlic. One at a time, dip the dry beet slices into the egg mixture, and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Keep the chips close together without overlapping. Place the baking sheet in your oven on the lowest rack.
After 10 minutes, spray the beets with oil. Increase the oven heat to 400 degrees. (375 degrees for convection) and continue to bake for an additional 15 minutes. Monitor the chips closely, and remove them from the oven when they turn a golden reddish brown. Cooking times will vary.
After letting the chips cool for a few minutes, sprinkle them with sea salt.
