ISNA Executive Director Leads Prayer Service For Abdul Rahman Kassig at Local Mosque
Last Friday, the Alhuda Foundation hosted the Kassig family and friends to honor the work of Abdul Rahman Kassig, an Indiana native who is currently held hostage by ISIS and threatened to be executed next. The program began with a sermon given by Hazem Bata, Executive Director of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). In the sermon, Bata highlighted the importance of spreading peace and emphasized that as Muslims, we are all obligated to spread peace in the world. He went on to recognize Abdul Rahman Kassig as the epitome of spreading peace...

ISNA Rep Quoted: 'Spread hummus, not hate' campaign unites Muslims, Jews
A small band of Jews and Muslims marched through one of the city's busiest squares Tuesday (Oct. 14) shouting "Spread Hummus! Not Hate!" and trying to draw the attention of an otherwise blase group of workers lined up at food trucks. Many in the lunchtime crowd kept their earbuds firmly in their ears or continued chatting with their co-workers. But a few people joined in to sing "Salaam, Shalom," a tune with the words for peace in Arabic and Hebrew, or to pen a comment on the side of the "SpreadHummusNotHate" bus...
