A Trashy Fashion Show - Celebrate Resourcefulness
Friday, November 15, 2013 at 7:00 pm

SWANCC would like to invite you to attend its seventh Trashy Fashion Show on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 7:00 pm. This year, 40 one-of-a-kind artistic designs will grace the catwalk - all made from materials destined for the landfill or recycling cart to include: used table clothes; sheets; bicycle tires; number bibs from races; Halloween costumes; dryer sheets; bulletin board boarders; shopping bags; news/wrapping/tissue papers; wine bottle nets; blanket; curtains and more.  As an extra element, each outfit will correlate with a cause, an organization linked to each designer's heart politically, medically or environmentally.

This community-based project encompasses students and residents from the following SWANCC communities: Barrington, Evanston, Glenview, Lincolnwood, Morton Grove, Mount Prospect, Palatine, Skokie and Winnetka, as well as design students from Fremd, Niles North & West High Schools - that represent many SWANCC communities.

The Trashy Fashion Show is held on November 15th in conjunction with the nationally-observed America Recycles Day, which raises awareness about being resourceful and better recyclers. This year's Trashy Fashion Show will be held at the Chicago Marriott Northwest Hotel, 4800 Hoffman Blvd., in Hoffman Estates

There is no cost to attend and reservations are not required - just come and bring a friend, family member or youth group! Doors will open to the public at 6:30 pm.
