ComEd Earth Month Challenge
Participate in ComEd's Earth Month Challenge
$10,000 in Awards for K-8 Schools - Applications due by January 31, 2013

ComEd is accepting applications from K-8 school administrators to participate in its Second Annual Earth Month Challenge. This Challenge helps parents, teachers and students become more aware of how they use electricity each day, and how simple changes in their every-day habits can lead to greater energy efficiency - and savings.

A total of $10,000 in prize money will be awarded to the top five point-earning schools. The Challenge is in the form of a contest where students, with assistance from their parents and teachers, earn points for their school for completing energy-savings tasks and promoting or discussing energy efficiency in social media.

Points are earned in the following ways:

  • For every completed and signed Earth Month Challenge Pledge Card that is submitted
  • For participants using less electricity at home during the month of April
  • For completing energy-efficiency related tasks on weekly Challenge Sheets and submitting them every Friday in April
  • For having students' parents or guardians post photos, videos or comments about their energy-saving activities to social media, the school's Web page, or by sending them to ComEd for posting to the Earth Month Challenge Web page

The Earth Month Challenge is a great way to make learning about energy efficiency fun!

Download the application here. Applications are due by January 31, 2013. For Challenge Rules or for more information, visit comedearthmonthchallenge.com
