Participate in an Upcoming Integrated Pest Managment (IPM) in Schools Webinar
Wintertime means more time indoors, which also means more exposure to allergens and asthmagens, especially from indoor pests. Join this EPA webinar to learn about seasonal opportunities to control indoor pests in schools and best practices for effective pest management interventions. The webinar will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at 11:00 am.
The webinar will focus on the seasonal opportunities to control indoor pests in schools. Wintertime means more time indoors, which means more exposure to allergens and asthmagens, especially from indoor pests. Winterization allows increased opportunities to prevent and exclude pests. We will examine the effects of pests on both indoor air quality (IAQ) and human health, especially asthma.
Interventions to control pests will be presented: what is effective and what is not! The reduction in the use of chemicals and the use of Environmentally Preferable Chemicals will be examined. Successful reductions in allergens and asthma incidents will be highlighted.
Who should join this webinar:
- School IPM Coordinators and "Green Team" members
- School health staff
- School facilities staff

- Concerned parents
- Pest management professionals
Facilitated by: Cristina Schulingkamp, EPA Region 3 Presenter: Dion Lerman, Healthy Homes Specialist Philadelphia School and Community IPM Partnership Pennsylvania Integrated Pest Management Program
