SWANCC Happenings in November
SWANCC provides member residents with a variety of ways to recycle and reduce waste.

Special Programs
Trashy Fashion Show

Trashy Fashion Show Morton Grove LibraryYou are invited to attend SWANCC's sixth spectacular Trashy Fashion Show on Thursday, November 15 at 7:00 pm, where over 30 designers will showcase their one-of-a-kind works of wearable art. Ninety percent of the each outfit was made with items destined for the trash can or recycling bin to include: old chef coats, t-shirts, prom dresses, Halloween costumes, blue jeans, graduation gowns, candy wrappers, packaging materials, all types of paper, dog and pig food bags, shopping and grocery bags, pop tabs, tile samples, old VHS tapes and even a worn-out umbrella.

This year, designers were asked to make an outfit to fit a movie theme. You will see interpretive creations that depict a character from The Hunger Games, Annie, Harry Potter, Cinderella, Gone with the Wind, Singing in the Rain, and many more. This community-based project encompasses students and residents from the following SWANCC communities: Arlington Heights, Barrington, Evanston, Glenview, Lincolnwood, Morton Grove, Palatine, Park Ridge, Skokie and Wheeling.

The fashion show will be held at the Holiday Inn Chicago North Shore, 5300 W. Touhy Avenue in Skokie. Doors will open at 6:30 pm, no reservations are required.
