Honoring the Uniform.
It's Second Saturday!
Uniforms are a big part of our society.
Look around you. Ever present are the colors, shapes and insignia that tell the world where you belong. The United States Armed Forces, our Police, Fire Fighters & Parks Service
personnel suit up to do their jobs. We see people wearing trade (like UPS,and pilots) school, Boy & Girl Scouts, sports and of course prison uniform in our daily lives.
Wear your uniform or bring it in to show what you are involved in, do, or have done this Second Saturday 10-2
In Honor of our US Active Duty Military & Veterans this Second Saturday (Nov 11th is Veterans Day) Complimentary Admission to the museum is yours! Just bring your Military or Veterans ID and your admission is on us!

Beautiful Gift.
Amazing Structure.
New Beautiful Gazebo....
Our gazebo is built! Master craftsmen from Pioneer Log Homes of British Columbia - Bryan Reid Sr. and Joel Roorda built the structure in Canada, took it apart, loaded it on a truck, drove it across the border, unloaded and reconstructed it right here on the front lawn of WAAAM. We also roped Erik Kerr of Crestline Construction Company to help instead of just telling us how to run the crane they let us borrow.
The gazebo looks like it grew there! It is just perfect. It will be available for small groups to picnic. a beautiful shelter from the wind.
"The whole thing looks utterly amazing." says Stephanie Hatch. The entire "build' was filmed and if you watch a certain TV show about log home builders from Canada you might just see it all come together.
Nearly completed: The roof got tied up in customs and the
backside of the walls were left open for the building inspection that is now signed off. Soooo....WORK PARTY! We also need to paint on the Lifetime Wood Treatment....so work party coming up. Contact director Judy Newman if you have an afternoon or two to help finish up the gazebo.
We are also in need of volunteer help with Don in the maintenance department. judy@waaamuseum.org
2014 Pacific Northwest Air Museums Conference
What a setting! Flanked by the Boeing 40, and in the middle of all these great artifacts, we (WAAAM) hosted the Annual 2014 Pacific Northwest Aviation Museums Conference....an all day event. It was very successful with 15 aviation Museums in attendance (40 people) and they all got to ride in a Model T on their way to visit the restoration shop. Our four main sessions included "It's all about support" with and from our cities, chambers, airports.,
Volunteers...how important they are to us; and "Let's promote our NW Air Museums". The NW has fantastic Aviation History and the more people that visit the all of the Northwest and our Museums, the better for all of us as communities.
Meetings are held annually in the fall - the 2015 Pacific Northwest Air Museums Conference is scheduled to be hosted by the Erickson Aircraft Collection in Madras.
Feels like hide and seek..
With a Steam Tractor??
Always moving. Where is that steam tractor now?
The Altman Taylor Steam Tractor
IN the Museum (of course that covers 2 1/2 acres of land) and we are setting up a steam display. We are collecting artifacts for the display case that will be along side the steam tractor & Stanley Steamer. There was a steam powered aircraft also powered by a Besler Steam Engine on the Travel Air 2000 Aircraft! Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

See the progress during the Shop Tour this Saturday at 1pm. Learn from the volunteers just what it take to bring this glider from bones to beauty!

Into the Future
A new shop area in H-3 is going together, as H-1 will be Aircraft Restoration only.
H-3 will have a new overhead door & man door into a shop area on the North side of the building. We will have our volunteer space for making signs, shelves, projects plus shop to work on tractors, mowers, etc..

BIGGER news! This next years project is to build a shop (car) on the pad in front of M-3 so we can change oil, work on Museum cars, etc. It will look like an old 30's or 40's gas station. Ideas are needed .
Or if you just happen to have an old metal gas station that needs to be moved give us a call!
Volunteer Appreciation Dinner will be held on Dec. 2nd Tuesday
A HUGE thank you to all our volunteers. RSVP.

Oshkosh or Bust!
The hardworking and dedicated volunteers of the Pusher Restoration are making plans! How do you get a 100+ year old aeroplane to Wisconsin?Gather a team, build a trailer, disassemble the aeroplane, put it in the trailer, drive across the country, put the craft together again, then fly it. And repeat the process for the trip home!
Volunteers are taking the Parker Pusher to
Oshkosh Air Venture in Wisconsin in 2015.
