The Second Saturday featuring The Studebaker was so much fun! Thanks to all who shared their love of the Studie.

Lois Bowman has displayed her 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk at WAAAM from the beginning. On April 13th, 2013 she handed the pink slip to the museum director and said " This is the perfect home for this car. Enjoy and keep up the great work"

New to WAAAM ! Airplane #96
St. Louis Cardinal comes to WAAAM
 |
Reassembly of the St Louis Cardinal
|
Just a couple of weeks ago the museum airplane count went to 96!
On Display in the M1... Yep we fit another airplane in the hangar is the 1929 St Louis Cardinal. A monocoupe with a LaBlond radial engine. Pretty fancy to have an inclosed cockpit and side by side seating. Most other airplane from this era were open cockpit. This is one of 21 built. We have slated this craft for restoration as the wing had warped over the years and before we fly it again we will give it a good fix.
The Cardinal and the Jenny: When the U.S. enterer the World War I, St. Louis Car joined with Huttig Sash and Door Co. (also of St. Louis) to form the St. Louis Aircraft Corporation, which went on to manufacture 450 JN-4D Jenny trainers (a Curtiss design) for the U.S. Army... Many thanks: WAAAM purchased the Cardinal with funds donated by Peter Lafferty and Don Mayo.

Annual Convention in Yakima
WHAT: Hundreds of antique trucks and thousands of trucking enthusiasts will gather in Yakima, Washington, for the American Truck Historical Society's 2013 National Convention and Antique Truck Show.
Trucks of nearly every vintage and make will be represented at the show, including the high spoke-wheel trucks of the early 1900s to the big 18-wheeler rigs seen today on America's highways. To be considered an antique, a truck must be at least 25 years old.

It is going back together! The Parker Pusher is gaining ground! Piece by piece, hours and hours of sand blasting and painting and .... the beat goes on. The three wheels had to be rebuilt.
(where do you find the right size spokes)
Then primed and painted.
Then the hunt was on to find the perfect fit for the tires.
Mounted and all aired up!
What's next.... ?
If you are interested in helping with the Parker Pusher restoration project at WAAAM please contact project coordinator Mark Stanfield at 2009mas@gmail.com.
