Keeping faith in Haiti
On Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010 a 7.0-magnitude earthquake shook apart Haiti's heart, killing more than 200,000 and affecting 3 million. Five years later, most of the rubble has been cleared but the aftershocks are still being felt. The United Methodist Church joined hands with the Eglise Méthodiste d'Haïti (Methodist Church of Haiti) in the first terrible days and have worked side by side every day since. Photographer Mike DuBose presents a visual record of how an earthquake changed this small Caribbean nation. Learn more

With New Year's eve falling on Wednesday this year, the seniors rang in the new year at lunch, including the Baltimore Stars, a travel chair volleyball team. (Those who didn't play volleyball enjoyed the decorations, party hats and noisemakers provided by the church.)

Great idea from Ohio City United Methodist Church

Ohio City United Methodist Church averages about 60 people in worship each week, but that didn't stop them from raising $500 for Imagine No Malaria during Lent last year. They found a way to do fundraising that enthused the kids in the congregation to get involved. The result was 50 lives saved in the fight against malaria. Read more
