Aviation ministry is expensive to maintain and costs approximately $250,000 annually to operate Wings of the Morning. This cost includes fuel, salaries, insurance, maintenance, licenses and fees. Friends of Wings of the Morning is an organization that provides sustainable support for the aviation ministry in the DRC with a goal to raise $250,000 annually to underwrite the operating expenses. Sixty-seven United Theological Seminary graduates participated in the Seminary's Advent Commencement held December 14 at Ginghamsburg Church, Tipp City, OH. Bishop Michael J. Coyner of the Indiana Area UMC was the featured speaker at the Seminary's Advent Commencement ceremony, traveling from Indianapolis, IN, to deliver the address, "Loving the Unlovely." Of the 67 graduates, there were five Master of Divinity graduates from the West Ohio Conference: Brent M. Dearnell, Bruce G. Dickerson II, Jonathan Hanover, Harry Kearns and Tesia L. Mallory, as well as three Doctor of Ministry graduates: Brian Wesley Walker, Lori L. Reiber and Ann M. Wurster.

Rev. Allen L. Puffenberger (Retired-2003) died on January 3, 2013 in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. He is survived by his wife Martha Puffenberger. Mrs. Florence Lucille Woods died on January 1, 2013. She was a lay employee of the West Ohio Conference staff, serving as Director of the Audio Visual Library/Media Center for 38 years.
