If you are new to the Central District, Welcome! 
This information is for ALL pastors serving in the district. 
To help you be successful in your church and ministry, here is important general information, the administrative cycle of the Central District, and some of the events and dates you will want to plan to attend. 
You are invited to keep this handy reference for important dates and general information 
throughout the year.
This Summer/Early Fall
July-August-September/2014

July 23, 11:45 am - Pastors in NEW Appointments - lunch with the DS at Stone Creek Dining Company, 911 N State Rd 135, Greenwood Please RSVP or call 317-924-4140

August 23, 8:30 am - Part-time pastors Breakfast with the DS at Bob Evans, 25 S High School Rd, Indianapolis
September 6, 8:30 am - Part-time pastors Breakfast with the DS at Blueberry Hill, 7803 E Washington St, Indianapolis
   pick one and RSVP (317-924-4140)

September 4, 5:30 pm - Clergy Family Picnic at Plainfield UMC, 600 Simmons St, Plainfield.) RSVP

Charge Conference report forms are available in mid-August. Begin gathering information, schedule meetings with Nominations and other committees to prepare for the Fall conferences. (Pastors need an INUMC.org email address to access these online forms!)
Fall/Early Winter
October, November, December/2014

October 6, 10 am-noon - Quarterly Clergy Meeting (location and speaker TBA)

October 16 - Metro Ministries, Inc annual ministry and mission celebration dinner at Bethel UMC

November 4-24 - Charge Conferences by cluster. All reports must be complete and submitted online 10 days in advance of your scheduled conference.

December 1 - Appointment intention forms (forms will be mailed to you in October) must be completed and submitted to the DS by 12/1

December 1 - Quarterly Clergy Meeting at Greenwood UMC, 10 am to 1:00 pm, includes lunch;
RSVP for this meeting please.
 
December 15 - District Conference, 3:00 pm at Southport UMC. 

Winter
January, February, March/2015

Begin preparing Year-End statistical reports; due mid-February
   (Input from treasurer, trustees, membership secretary required)
Reporting begins mid January and must be complete by Feb 15.

January 25 (tentative date) Leadership Development for clergy and laity

January 30 - unincorporated churches must file Election of Trustees Report with their local county clerk. Click here for the form. (Incorporated churches must file form NP-20 with the Secretary of State on the anniversary of incorporation each year.

February 15 - Year-End statistical reporting online closes

February 21, 8:00 am - All District Lenten Kickoff Breakfast at University of Indianapolis, Schwitzer Student Center

February 23-24, Our Life Together Clergy retreat at St Luke's UMC

March 9-10, Clergy meeting with Bob Farr at Indianapolis Christ UMC

(Detailed information about each of these events will be communicated individually and in timely emails/e-Newsletters.)
Spring

May/2014

May 15 - annual ministry evaluations and pastor self evaluation due (forms sent in late March)

May 28-31 - Annual Conference at the Indianapolis Convention Center; one day longer in order to elect members to general conference.

May 31 - Church audits are due to the Conference Center; forms are online, as are audit guidelines.

Targeted emails are sent to pastors or laity as necessary to announce upcoming events, administrative deadlines or other pertinent information.
