Dear Pastors of the Central District and Staff/Pastor Parish Committee chairs:

 (Note: if you have completed your form and returned it to the district center, thank you! This email is being sent to EVERY pastor to be sure we don't miss anyone.) 

 

Greetings and God's blessings to you and your church family!  Thank you for your service to Christ's church.

 

The intention of this letter is to provide you and your pastor/staff parish relations committee an opportunity to share with me your desires regarding your clergy appointment in 2014.  Please take time to confer, pray, and let me know your wishes.  I will be happy to take this as a recommendation to the Bishop; however, this is not a promise of any action or result. 

 

I need to have the attached forms returned to me  no later than December 1, 2013. You can mail, fax or email the forms (3901 N Meridian St, Suite 201, Indianapolis 46209; fax: 317-924-4007, or email to central.district@inumc.org ).The bishop and cabinet will begin working on appointments starting in early January; therefore, it is important that we have all information by the due date so I have the time in December to process all the information received.

Pastor's Annual Appointment Request Form:

Each pastor is encouraged to complete the form. However, we also remind you the Bishop's and Cabinet's desire is that each pastor serves a minimum of five years in one's current appointment. Even if you have been serving the same local congregation(s) for less than five years, it would be helpful if you completed and returned this form.

 

Limited Itinerancy Advisory Consultation Form:

Enclosed you will find this year's "Limited Itinerancy Advisory Consultation Form."  All pastors desiring "Limited Itinerancy" must complete this form and return it to my office no later than December 1, 2013.   In the absence of such a form from you, the Bishop and Cabinet will consider you to be fully itinerant.

 

S/PPRC Annual Appointment Information Form:

Bishop Coyner and the Cabinet asks that where a pastor has served five years or longer, each Staff/Pastor Parish Relations Committee is required to complete the appointment intention form for the next conference year beginning July 1, 2014. This discussion is to be kept private, within the committee. Sharing it with anyone else can lead to division within the congregation and to disruption in the pastoral relationship. This input is only advisory to the Cabinet and the Bishop.

In the event the SPRC chair does not have email, pastors, you need to forward it/pass the form on for completion.

It is that time of year when the District Superintendent  gathers information from churches and pastors relating to appointment intentions for the 2014 appointment year.  
There are separate forms for pastors and Staff/Pastor Parish Committees to complete. These need to completed and returned to the District office by December 1, 2013 for 2014 appointment consideration. Typically only pastors serving longer than five years at a church are asked to complete the appointment intention request; however, Bert Kite, Central District Superintendent, would like any pastor/SPRC not appointed in 2013 to fill out a form to let him know their intention. All S/PPR committees are asked to complete the form.

There will not be a separate mailing, so if the chair of SPRC at your church does not have an email, please make sure this is passed on.  Please give your attention to this so your intention is on record by December 1. Thank you!
