Art of Framing

 

Fell to Earth is a body of work created by local artist/educator Mara Battiste and emerging young artist Emily Vandervate. Emily's natural eye and passion for constructing expressive, poetic visual narratives with self-portraiture motivated Mara to revisit and rekindle her relationship with the camera.  Mara's knowledge of painting, printmaking, and mixed media pushed Emily to consider the ways photographic images can find new life by breaking away from computers and traditional printing.

The Songwriters Association of Mid-north Indiana is accepting applications for the 2015 Shirley Martin Scholarship for Young Songwriters, which includes the special Mike Lane Horizon Award.

 

Candidates must be between the ages of 14-19 and be a permanent resident of one of the following Indiana counties to apply: Benton, Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Fountain, Howard, Jasper, Montgomery, Newton, Pulaski, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Warren and White.

Indiana Fiddlers' Gathering

 

An Informal Contra/Square Dance & Concert featuring nationally recognized dance band STEAM! will be held at Duncan Hall Saturday April 4, 2015.

The food bazaar funds programs and events at the International Center; featuring 20-25 booths with samples of food prepared by student groups and individuals from around the globe.

 

Tickets are 50¢ each at the event and can be combined to purchase a variety of items, from egg rolls to hummus.

In celebration of the Bach Chorale Singers' 50th Anniversary, the Bach Chorale Singers and Tippecanoe Music Teachers Association announces the Bach Piano Competition for piano students in grades 3-8.

 

Winners will receive cash awards and the opportunity to perform on the BCS Youth Chorus concert on May 2.
