Step into the past with a guided tour of the historic Haan Mansion Museum. See paintings by early Indiana artists including TC Steele, George Winter and many others. Extraordinary antiques and Indiana ceramics make the tour even more memorable. Hear stories about the mansion and its contents as you visit each room. Saturday tours begin at 10 and 1:30; Sunday tour starts at 1:30.  Tickets $10 at haanmuseum.org or $12 at the door if available.


 

Fight the winter blahs with a visit to Athens Arts! New artwork of all kinds, such as the art of Bill Krug (wood artist) and Anita Krug (fiber/quilt artist), is on display for purchase or just plain enjoyment.

Join LSO for a fun-filled evening for the entire family, including an engaging experience with instruments at our Instrument Petting Zoo! Take a shot at the violin, put on your jazz hands and try out the saxophone, talk with brass players, and make beautiful music!

 

Stay for LSO's performance of "Music, Music, Everywhere!" from Richman's Picardy Penguin Series, and learn how music is part of our everyday lives.

 

The Monticello-Union Township Public Library is pleased to present Ballroom Dancing Classes on Friday, February 6 and 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Instructor Elizabeth Hendrickson, from Camelot Dance Club in Lafayette, will teach participants to dance the Waltz and Rumba. Elizabeth is the Chairman of the Camelot Dance Club. She has danced ballet for 20 years and danced ballroom for 12 years. Registration is required.

Artists' Own 

 

Artists' Own is hosting talented local High School Artists from January 5-January 31st, 2015 during the annual Artists' Own High School Art Show.  Artists reception and awards presentation is on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 2-4 pm.

 

Artists' Own will be closing for two weeks after Valentines Day to prepare for a ReNew Artists' Own opening in March, stay tuned!

Wabash Valley Youth Symphony Fall Concert

 

WVYS Winter Concert is 7:00 PM, February 22, at Richard Jaeger Theater, Jefferson High School, 1801 S.18th St., Lafayette.

 

This free concert features concerto competition winners Daniel Hallett, marimba, Jenny Shao, cello and Christina Shi, piano in works by Abe, Elgar and Beethoven as well as Shostakovich Symphony 5, final movement.
