National Center for Great Lakes Native American Culture
August 2, 3 & 4, Summer Cultural Arts Classes, Portland. Two and a half day classes in river cane flutes, paddle-stamped pottery, trade silver, porcupine quill work, Iroquois beading, cattail weaving, steel-bladed knives and Great Lakes culture. Delphi Opera House Gallery Opening Reception
Antique perfume bottles and pastels/oils of landscapes and still life will be on exhibit at the Delphi Opera House Gallery. With an artful eye for beauty, Ginny Emerson has been collecting antique perfume bottles for over 3 decades. Pam Newell will exhibit her beautiful impressionistic paintings. The opening reception will be Wednesday, August 6 from 4:00-7:00 followed by the history and slide show of the perfume bottles presented by Elaine McConnell with photos by Alan McConnell in the "sanctuary" of the DOH2.

Opening Reception and New Exhibition at TAF
The Tippecanoe Arts Federation's upcoming exhibitions will run from August 15 - September 12. This exhibiton series will feature "What a Tangled Web We Weave" by Robin Coyner, "Rivers of Grace" by Rachel Witt, and "Expressions Unlimited: An Exhibition of Self Portraits" by Art Cenacle. Join us for the opening reception on August 15 from 6-8pm.
Normal gallery hours are Monday- Friday, 9am-5pm.

Frankfort Community Public Library Presents Creativity Retreat
A Serendipity Studios Creativity Retreat with Marla Helton, Greencastle, Indiana will be offered on Saturday, Aug. 16. From 9am-1pm, participants will create a Wild Woman or Wild Horse wall hanging sculpture. Cost is $55, supplies included. From 2-3pm, participants will experience a Restorative Yoga session; cost $20. Cost for sculpture and yoga is $70. Transportation is on your own. Registration & payment due at the library by July 25. Find Your Voice
A writer's voice is distinct from everyone else-it is how a character expresses herself and it is the words and sentences the author uses. In this workshop we will learn how to deepen our unique voices. We will analyze the voices of works we admire and further our understanding of our writing through exercises. Purdue University Black Cultural Center: Boilerfest - New Student Orientation

Connect with the BCC to begin the celebration of our fall theme "Unmasking Blackness Through Rhythm, Culture and Celebration." Boilerfest will introduce you to the BCC, various student organizations, and campus support services. Tippecanotes Present "That's Life"
The Tippecanotes Barbershop Harmony Chorus presents its 2014 performance: "That's Life." The show will be presented September 6, 7:30pm, at the Jeff High School auditorium - (Bob Rohrman Center For The Performing Arts). Performing will be the Tippecanotes Chorus and its fine quartets, along with a very special quartet,Instant Classic, This fine quartet recently placed in the Top 10 at the BSHS Society International competition. Artist Call-Out: "The Retro Show"
Exhibition Dates: September 19 - October 24
The "2 Chic Art Gallery", located in Delphi hangs a new exhibit every six weeks. Services include an opening reception and promotion throughout TAF's Region 4. Promotion programs include a 'Community Arts Program" which brings businesses and artists together and one-day exhibitions at community events. The artist/businesses pay a small fee for services. The gallery takes no commission.

Ten first-time participants are among 42 artists working in diverse media selected by juror Julie Tourtillotte for the 9th annual Art on the Wabash, West Lafayette's Tapawingo Park, 10am to 4pm, Sunday, September 21, 2014. The event is presented by the city of West Lafayette with assistance from Tippecanoe Arts Federation and sponsorship by KitchenArt - The Store for Cooks.
