Dear SSC Shadow players and parents,

On behalf of the SSC Shadow Board of Directors, I am writing to announce the resignation of Technical Director Sean Bushéy and congratulate him on his new position as Director of Coaching of the Senior Academy with the Colorado Rush.  SSC Shadow has been fortunate to have Sean lead the club for the past 5 years and we truly celebrate his accomplishments.  He is a true ambassador for the sport and we appreciate Sean's passionate commitment to building a quality, premier youth soccer program in Spokane.

During Sean's tenure he has built a tremendous organization of talent and elevated SSC Shadow to one of the top six clubs in the state.  His soccer accomplishments in Spokane are impressive and his imprint on the club will leave a lasting legacy. It is with our deepest gratitude and warmest wishes for much future success that we accept Sean's resignation.

The SSC Shadow Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Abbas Faridnia has been named the new SSC Shadow Technical Director.  Throughout the process of combining the two clubs this past year, Abbas has lent his expertise, tireless enthusiasm and has been a key component to our success.  With Abbas' leadership and our talented coaching depth, we're excited and confident about the future of our club.

Sean and Abbas will work together through the transition over the coming months, with Sean continuing on as a consultant to our club over the next year.   We appreciate your club membership and choosing our organization for your soccer programming.  We take this charge very seriously.  Thank you.

In soccer,

Wayne Butler
President, SSC Shadow Board of Directors

Dear SSC Shadow players and parents,

When I took the lead role in the club in December, 2007, it was with the objective of building upon the foundation that had been laid by the founders before me.  I am hopeful that has been accomplished as I am excited about this club and where it is poised to grow and strengthen from this point forward.  We have sought, and will continue to seek, to provide an excellent place for youth to play soccer, knowing that we must continue to make improvements.  All those involved in the club, directors, coaches, administrators and board members, are committed to this goal.

I am honored to have been able to serve alongside our coaches.  Just after our players, it is our coaches that make the club.  Our coaches are a committed group.  They strive to grow to better serve the players they coach.  I love this group of people.  There is no better coaching staff.  They give so much of their time.

I am excited to see the next steps for the club.  This past year I have had the extreme pleasure of working side by side with Abbas Faridnia.  I wholeheartedly believe in him.  I have been around many coaching directors and coaches during my career--from college to ODP to RCL and beyond.  Abbas is among the very best.  He is incredibly hard working, intelligent and passionate about this great sport.  His eagerness to learn is another key quality that positions himself to be an excellent leader of this great club.  He is, without a doubt, the right person to lead SSC Shadow.

I am indebted to many people that have been of incredible support to me.  Loreen McFaul and Bill Eldridge have been the pillars in the background that have kept me upright since the day I started.  Niko Varlamos took the chance straight away to embark on this youth soccer journey with me and I will forever be grateful for that.  He has meant so much to this club and to me personally.  To the current and former board members, thank you for your service to the club and support of me.  There are too many people to list to thank but please know I am grateful.

To the players, continue to enjoy this great game.  Watch Barcelona, ask your coaches questions and play for each other.  I have enjoyed watching you play.

Enjoy your soccer and GO SSC SHADOW!

Sean Bushéy
