We are sending Hope to Haiti!  Please be in prayer as we reach into that country with the hope of Jesus Christ through education and food!

Please join us in prayer these next two days.  Pray for:

  1. The Country of Haiti
  2. The Divine Shelter Schools
  3. The teachers who have committed themselves to reaching the children of Haiti
  4. The school principals who lead and encourage their teachers and students
  5. Cross International and its workers in Haiti
Pray for the country of Haiti...It's located on the island of Hispaniola about 400 miles from Miami, Fla., and is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. More than two-thirds of the labor force doesn't hold a formal job. Malnutrition, poor education and health care, and the highest rate of HIV/AIDS infection in the Americas plague this country. Violence and military coups have also marked this nation's history and caused great instability.

Pray for the Students of Divine Shelter Schools like...Kavin Duvel.

Kavin is a sixth-grader at the Divine Shelter School in the remote village of Bainet. To visit his school from Haiti's capital city of Port-au-Prince involves hours of traveling over red dirt roads that eventually turn into white, rocky roads, which later dissolve into narrow, seemingly impassable roads flanked by steep, mountainous drop-offs.

Pray for the teachers and workers like...Marriot Clement.

Marriot has been a first-grade teacher at the LaVallee school since 1989. Over the years she has seen her students grow and improve in numerous and wonderful ways. She says parents initially send their children to school because of the free daily meals, but they are quickly impacted by the Christian education their children are receiving.

Divine Shelter School teachers lead their students in prayer and
Bible studies, keeping Christ at the center of the classroom.
