SUPERBETTER IS AN APP THAT
HELPS YOU GET BETTER

Jane McGonigal is a world class scholar in the neuro-science of games and a successful game designer.

Jane's focus is not on addictive games but on using games as therapy.

SuperBetter is a game developed by Jane that has helped nearly half a million players tackle real-life health challenges like depression, anxiety, chronic pain and traumatic brain injury.
The back story is very interesting.

When game designer Jane McGonigal found herself bedridden and suicidal following a severe concussion, she had a fascinating idea for how to get better: gaming.

She dove into the scientific research and created a healing game, Jane The Concussion Slayer, which led to the development of SuperBetter.
The results of the University of Pennsyvlania's randomized controlled trial investigating the effectiveness of SuperBetter in treating depression showed that at the 1-month post-test, SuperBetter players' depression scores decreased by 12.9 points.

In comparison, waiting list participants' scores only decreased by 5.1 points.

After six weeks, SuperBetter players' scores were 17 points lower compared to a 6 point decrease for waiting list participants.

The study describes this as equivalent to eliminating about 8.5 symptoms that used to bother a SuperBetter player 3-4 days per week, compared to eliminating about 3 symptoms for waiting list participants.

SuperBetter works almost like a vaccine to immunize and protect patients with depression and traumatic brain disorders. This app is free to download. You can try it now.
Jane teaches us gameful ways of thinking and acting with SuperBetter.

The positivity of the gameful mind works to help us in responding to real world challenges, including sickness.

The increased control of attention helps to prevent anxiety and depression and physical pain.

Jane's goal is to see a game designer nominated for a Nobel Prize. She is actively working to make it a reality.

We hope that Jane is on her way to getting the Nobel Prize for her world changing insights and innovation.
