"RCM ADDS NATUROPATHIC DOCTOR (ND) TO TEAM"

Dr. Raymond Rupert is pleased to announce that Annie Salsberg, ND has joined RCM's team as a Senior Consultant.

He states, "In her new role, Annie brings a unique perspective to our clients' health conditions and concerns. She will be assisting us in expanding our vision of offering comprehensive healing options to our clients."

As a 2005 graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) and Harvard's Mind Body Medicine Program, Annie applies her wealth of experience to an eclectic family medical practice.

She is part-time faculty at CCNM and a Supervisor in their teaching clinic, the largest ambulatory naturopathic medical clinic in North America with over 20,000 visits annually.

Annie complements her practice and faculty role with work in the nutriceutical industry, working for a leading supplement manufacturer and distributor.

Annie says, "Naturopathy is a system of healing that considers all facets of an individual. Naturopaths seek to uncover the root cause of any dysfunction and support multiple systems to improve overall well-being.

"We are all unique and we all benefit from individual attention. Each of us has the ability to make meaningful positive health-affirming change in our lives which can improve energy, sleep, digestion and much more."

Dr. Rupert adds, "Through an Integrative Care Review (ICR), Annie will analyze a client's individual case and highlight optimal treatment strategies to decrease symptoms and promote overall health."

An ICR is a report drawing on various disciplines (including but not limited to diet, supplements, counselling, acupuncture) and is collaborative when necessary with conventional medicine.

 INTEGRATIVE CARE REVIEW and OUTCOME

Mr. S is a 30 year male who presented with multiple digestive disturbances that adversely impacted his quality of life. Repeat visits with conventional medical specialists provided few answers in terms of root cause.   Prescribed medications were unhelpful in providing symptom relief. Feeling discouraged, Mr. S was resigned to living with this condition.

By performing an Integrative Care Review, Annie took the time to listen to Mr. S, appreciate all aspects of his case and formulate a plan based on his unique needs. During the debriefing with Mr. S, Annie offered novel approaches to his specific health concerns while also addressing other facets of his well-being.

After implementing a number of the complimentary treatment strategies outlined in the ICR, Mr. S reported an 80% reduction in symptoms, improved mood and energy and an overall sense of optimism and excitement for his future.
