Ms. A. is a 56 year old woman living with schizophrenia. After the father's recent death, she was living alone in the house they formerly shared. For many reasons, a decision was made to sell the family home, and it was necessary for Ms. A. to be relocated. After numerous discussions between the family and their financial advisors, along with failed efforts to relocate Ms. A, the bank contracted Jennifer to assist.
Jennifer found Ms. A. to be in poor physical and mental health and showing a "lack of competence". She was declining medical intervention and refusing to take her medications. Concerned, Jennifer took the proper steps and Ms. A. was formed under the Mental Health Act and admitted to hospital.
While in hospital, Ms. A. was assessed and medicated. Jennifer was able to find safe and supportive housing for this client, as well as connect Ms. A. to the proper agencies required to monitor and assist her in activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living.
The family was very appreciative of Jennifer's assistance stating "You have managed to create future possibilities for my sister, at a time when we were starting to give up hope. You are the first person in years who has managed to get anything to happen for her at all."
