GUEST ARTICLE by Chris Mitchell
We have read about the land where the Old Testament prophets lived, where the battles were fought and miracles occurred.  We know about the places where Jesus taught, healed the sick and completed his father's plan of redemption, but until you step unto the land, and study what transpired the reality doesn't really hit you. Our MFI group of friends visited there in May.

FROM THE DIRECTOR

Dear Friends,
Let me encourage you to know in your heart that you are not alone. One of the things that I realized again when we were in the Holy Land in May, was the continuity of time. God has a timeline that is above and beyond what we can understand. What seems to take so long to us, is but a moment in His sight.
When we were on Mount Nebo where Moses stood overlooking the promised land, it seemed like it could have been just yesterday. In Deuteronomy 34 it says that God showed Moses the whole land of Judah before he died. He was 120 years old and the Bible says 'his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone.'

When we were on the Sea of Galilee it seemed unchanged from what we read in Matthew and Mark. When Jesus stood on the mountain and bade goodbye to His disciples, His promise was for all time. "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:20b

What I mean to say is, that even though we don't understand it, all of TIME and all of our LIVES are in God's plan. So be ENCOURAGED. You are not alone.
Our task is to work diligently to serve Him. Each of us may be called to different tasks, but the purpose of it all is to live to accomplish what God has called us to do. To live, to love, to serve, to teach, to encourage, to lead - this should be our goal as we march in the parade of time which God has ordained. And know that He is with us to the very end of the age!

Dan Wooding interviews Jerusalem CBN News Middle East Bureau Chief, Chris Mitchell, on his new book on ISIS.
By Dan Wooding, Founder of ASSIST Ministries and the ASSIST News Service NASHVILLE, TN (ANS - June 7, 2015)

For many years, Chris Mitchell, the CBN News Middle East Bureau Chief based in Jerusalem, has had a front seat to history in the Middle East, especially reporting on the terrifying growth of Islamic terror groups in the region, particularly in Iraq and Syria.

And now, Mitchell is sharing much of what he has learned in his fascinating new book called "DESTINATION JERUSALEM: ISIS, Convert or Die, Christian Persecution and Preparing for the Days Ahead" (C & L Publishing LLC), which brings little-known facts about the ISIS, also called Islamic State (IS) terror group, as well as other momentous events in his troubled region. READ MORE
