A quick summer message from Principal Albright
I wanted one last June bulletin to go out to the Deal community, just as the kids are settling in by the pool, arriving at camp, getting on the airplane, showing up to help their aunt at her job, lining up at the movie, honing their basketball moves and, of course, completing their summer reading! Our office will be open every day this summer, although you won't be able to catch all of us at the same time. There is much to do, as always, and our staff is deep into planning for next year. You are welcome, of course, to drop by or drop us a line - we want to keep the conversation going. You will undoubtedly have questions during the summer; don't wait until August 26 to ask them!
Below you see a couple of critical items: immunizations and registrations. Please take care of these now, rather than in August. Now is the time; we need your forms in so we can continue scheduling your children in for their classes. Our immunization rate was low this year; if you could be sure to check at your child's doctor visit that they are up on these and when the next ones are due, you will be helping keep everyone healthy.
Finally, please let your friends with children in the rising 6th grade know about this weekly bulletin so they can sign up right away. The next expected Deal communication will be at the beginning of August with the distribution of our summer packet - newsletter, forms, information for 2013-2014. Of course, if something comes up before then I will let everyone know via email (not that I expect it to!).
I hope all of you are enjoying the heat and humidity and whatever passes for vacation in your family. It took until Tuesday for me to really start missing your children in the halls - but it won't be long until we are all back together. See you next year.
