| Getting Us Covered Suspending Enrollment |
The federal insurance program Getting Us Covered is closing its doors to new patients. As the Colorado arm of the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP), they will no longer be accepting applications after March 2, 2013 for budget reasons.
Nationally,in 2012 each member cost (on average) $32,000.
If you know of someone who has a significant pre-existing condition and needs insurance they might check it out before enrollment closes. These plans are scheduled to be replaced by the health exchanges January 1, 2014. Their web site can be found by clicking this link.
